Q:My check engine light came on, so I went to auto zone to have it checked. The guy said I had a small leak. He said to check certain things but I forgot most of them. I have been asking on yahoo but a few people were asking for the code. I dont think I have it but I do have the receipt. Im not engine savvy, so I dont know where the evap hose/canister is.: My shop designed and holds a patent for a lift kit for Honda Passports, and several other small SUV's that use the same platform. We do a 1 1/2, a 2 and a 3 inch lift. You don't want to go over 3 inches as anything over 3 inches entales alot more work, and cost, plus it's not really safe to go higher on a small SUV. Our complete kit which includes new springs, trailing arms, shocks, bushings, and steering stablizer is $1,195.00. To install it in our shop runs an average of $600.00. We're in Georgia, about 50 miles NE of Atlanta.

Even when the light recycles and resets, the error code is kept in memory. Go to the dealer, or your mechanic, and have the system scanned for error codes. One that is done you will know what codes are present, and how serious it is. Someone is bound to tell you to go to some auto parts store to have it scanned. Please don't. They only do the scan to sell you parts, and the scan is only as good as the kid on the counter that day.

No the air bag will not go off because of the light the light is telling you something is wrong with the system,It could be as simple as a defective seat belt or if you live in the salt belt as i do it can be a corroded crash sensor.these codes can be read but not by auto zone scantools you need to go to a shop that deals with airbags such as the dealer or a body shop. Dont worry the airbag wont deploy by itself,but you need it checked in case of a accident.

Q:I have looked behind the dash and there is no bulb, it passed the mot in feb but with the new vosa, will this mean my car will fail, or if I put a new bulb in and it flashes, dose anyone no away around this prob I have heard it can be very expensive: if they wipe when the hit the cleaner button odds are the motor is working ;) Check the fuse then the switch itself.

Is there any other way possible to get this light cleared and since that light is on does that mean if I get into a crash the airbags will not deploy?: air bag repair is a specialty in order to do safely and properly as there is a small explosive devise that employs the air bag. So you will need a trained person to do this. Fixing the light is not the issue, but why it has illuminated in the first place. Maybe the first step is to have the code read and go from there.

Any light that is US DOT accepted is legal in EVERY state in the US. As for your HID lights, are you sure they are actually HID? Do you have a ballast for the lights? If no, they are not HID. Do the bulbs have filaments? If they do, they are NOT HID lights.
