Q:The maximum speed of a car in a headwind of 15 m s^-1 is slightly higher than its maximum speed in still air.why is this?I cam across it in an Engineering book and dont understand.Would it be because the wind creates lift which then makes the car lighter and able to go slightly faster?
If this was a chapter on aerodynamics, it might be they were trying to say that the airspeed (to be plugged into a formula) would be higher when the car was at top speed and there is a headwind. I think that would be true even tho the car's groundspeed would be less than with still air. Other than that, I think it sounds like nonsense.
Q:In Liaocheng where there are second-hand lift machine paint room?
Zouping County from Shandong can buy the price is very cheap second-hand paint a lot of rooms can not be used
Q:I just bought a 07 toyota tacoma and im looking to put a lift on it. Whats the difference Between a suspension lift and a body lift? Pros and Cons? Also would a 6" lift be too tall/unstable for my daily transportation? Thanks.
6 isn't too tall/unstable, but it is pointless on a small 'truck'. A body lift just raises the body on the frame. You don't gain any ground clearance, so if you're going to go offroad, it won't help you any. Suspension lifts are the only way to go. Stick with around a 3-4 suspension lift and 32-33 tires on that truck and it will go 95% of the places you would want it to go...before breaking and needing a jeep to tow you out.
Q:A 15,000-N car on a hydraulic lift rests on cylinder with a piston of radius 0.20 m. If an oil compressor drives a connecting cylinder with a piston radius of 0.040 m, what minimum force must be applied to the smaller piston to lift the car?a) 600 Nb) 1,500 Nc) 3,000 Nd) 15,000 Ne) 30,000 NPlease write me ur complete solution and not just the final answer. Also please answer me seriously.
I see you're under pressure to finish the problem. In all seriousness though, you need to use pressure. Pressure Force/Area. In a hydraulic system, pressure is roughly the same throughout (assuming no significant height changes). So we can assume that the pressure at the small cylinder is the same as the pressure at the large cylinder. From that assumption the following equation can be formed: 15000/(pi*.2^2)F/(pi*.040^2) F 600N
Q:I had all 4 brake pads replaced yesterday. come home from class last night and realize there‘s a puddle in my parking spot. I left it alone, i‘m on crutches and it was dark. bad combination. anyway, so today i went out there to check it out. here‘s what i found: under side of my car is wet in a small area, and you can see little drips hanging on to it, I didn‘t get close enough to see where it was coming from, remember i‘m crippled right now. the whatever it is that‘s leaking is brown so if i narrowed it down correctly, that‘d make it either oil or brake fluid. It‘s dripping from the middle of the car for the most part, not near either one of the tires. it‘s in the front like i guess actually almost right in between my front tires. ANY info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks all you car buffs. I know a little, but not too much!!!xoxops- it‘s a 2002 monte carlo ss if that matters and its got about 88000 miles on it, sigh. it‘s my baby
Just back the car enough to get your finger on the fluid and give it the smell test, that will give you some idea of what kind of fluid you're seeing. Like the other man said, after a brake job, it's not unusual to see a little fluid dripping because of the overflow from the master cylinder, and re-filing.
Q:Help with car spoiler idea? Experienced people please!?
At a constant speed, weight has very little to do with gas mileage, the main force you are overcoming is aerodynamic drag. So, in general no spoiler would be better than any spoiler. Also with your idea, creating left takes energy. So, anything you might gain from the lift, you would have taken away from you in drag. There is no free engery
Q:What‘s your favorite car body style? And why?(Coupe, Hatch/Fast/Lift/back, Convertible, Sedan, Station/Wagon Etc.)
the fastback look of the late 60s , ford, dodge, chev, etc. they had that sexy look to draw the women in.
Q:I have an 03' Toyota Corolla FWD. I had it on a lift to check it out. I turned it on and put it in drive. only the RF wheel spins normal, but the LF wheel only spins when given enough gas. Is this normal or is it a problem?
it is completely normal, FWD cars dont have a locked differential in the front. that means that only one wheel will be powered when the car is driven. the same goes for RWD cars that dont have a limited slip differential or a posi rear-end.
Q:i am trying to find cruise trips that stops in venice but then after i want to drive my car in next location. if you know any cruise please tell me :) thanks
No - none. The olden passenger ships all took cars but very few modern cruise ships has a cargo hold large enough. So, you say, I am rich and I want to drive my own car, I like my car so much and I would like to drive it in Italy OK, at every port you would have to arrange for a crane to lift your car off and on again. Assume a minimum $ 1,000 charge for the crane. The car has to be cleared by customs in the first port and the appropriate fees paid. Since an imported car cannot be registered and insured unless a safety check is done, wait for a truck to pick up the car and drive it to a government test station. These are normally reserved one - three months in advance. Get your car certified. If that model and that engine/transmission combination don't have type designation AND EU safety approval AND EU pollution controls to start with, it goes right back on the ship. If it has sealed beam American type head lights, they will have to be replaced. Any red flashing light, like turning lights have to be modified to be yellow, to be allowed in Europe. Then, you can go to the licence bureau, prove that you have an EU driver's licence AND a permanent residence in the country of registration. Now pay for a year's registration and pick up your plates. With that in hand you call an insurance broker. They will verify your EU driver's record. If you have none, they will give you the same rate as a 16 year old kid. Very high. Enjoy your drive. Total cost and time. Many  and many weeks. Suggestion. If you really want to drive in Italy, which very few sane people do, just rent a car. Cost?  100 / day. Time? Five minutes. Now, if you live in EU, you can certainly bring your car in the cargo hold of the cruise ship, if they have one. The cost, Very high, still.
Q:my 2001 Ford Taurus is sagging a bit in the back, I was told that I needed rear struts, will this correct that any ? I was told that I did not need to replace the springs, they are still good
struts do not set the ride height. you may have weak springs.
