Q:I really wanted to buy a full hydraulic car jack for my garage. Unfortunately, looking at the home I just purchased, I no longer think it is really practical. I don‘t need to lift my car 8 ft, but I would like to lift it 2-4 ft for maintenance. Are there any good options for this, other than simple jack stands and a 2 ton car jack? I want to know if anyone knows of perhaps a platform that you can drive on and hand jack, or maybe some sort of rubber chalks that you can drive up onto.Simply putting it, I am looking for a car jacking solution between your every day floor jack/ jack stand set up and a full blown hydraulic lift that you would find in a mechanics shop. Thank you!
a good set of car ramps will give you enough lift to change the oil and do regular maintenance and they can easily be stored away after using them, that's the cheapest and safest way to do this, good luck.
Q:The car to do four-wheel positioning lift lift up and down the good data before the beam is not the same reason?
The car looked down and look at the car, there may be suspended rubber sets of loose phenomenon
Q:I have a 1999 toyota corolla. Due to severe back problems, I can‘t keep bending down to get in and out. I was thinking about getting it lifted about 12 inches. How much would the kit cost? What are the negatives of doing this?
It would require a complete retooling of the entire suspension system. Meaning custom everything. If you go taller, you've got to increase stability, meaning wider axles, tires, and wheels, which could interfere with wheel rub while turning the steering. Unless you own a machine shop or work at monster garage, it would be much cheaper and beneficial for you to buy a midsize SUV, or to just go to the chiropractor. If I were to guess how much a custom kit like this would cost, including labor, I am thinking around $10,000.
Q:2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec v, 83k on engin 130k on car.The repair manual says that it could be the crank and rod bearings. but that doesnt fit in my mind with the sound.on start up, about 50-60% of the time a loud almost rattle , it follows the pitch and tone of the engine but after start up only low gears barely and rarely will i hear the faint sound of it imo i think its a loose heat sheild or something, im going to get my oil change here soon too so idk but i havent really investigated to much , just want some opinions first. thanks in advance
Have it put on a car lift and check the complete exhaust system front to back.
Q:i am going to buy a ford excursion next week i found one i really like was planing on lifting it but i found one for $2000 more ready to go in a dealer 37 tires an not sure but looks like a 10-12 in lift. what i want to know is would it be cheaper to buy it ready to go or can i get the other one lifted tires and all for $2000 and please no smart *** comments i am new to this hole getting a car lifted but i always wanted one and now i have the $$$$ but no clue of what to look for
The bigger lifts are allot of money. Another alternative would be fender trimming fender flares, and a combo lift like a body lift and a suspension Lift The big money kits are nice because they eliminate all the guess work of trying to match components and hunt down all the little stuff yourself its all there the drop link the shocks usually. You might find a more trail ready rig if you go with an older Ford that someones already invested time and money into like an old Bronco. the cheaper of the good big tires in my opinion is the Interco Bogger in the radial style Tire Don't get the Bias Ply unless you have the Rig off road all the time. Those Bias Plies take forever to warm up. Remember with the high dollar kits they usually ride allot nicer.
Q:i know i shouldn‘t be picky about my first car but what do you guys think about it.
It's a great car to learn on. Is it lifted? if so.it's dangerous! so be careful. it's not a sports car. You can learn a lot with this since it's not a refined clean new car.you'll learn how a truck works. you'll learn how to work on cars and you'll learn how to drive. this is not an easy truck to drive. Is it manual? if so, great! if you can drive this, and drive it WELL, you can drive anything. My first car was a 1979 Jeep CJ-7 and i now drive a 1999 Blazer ZR-2. these two vehicles have taught me a TON about how cars work and how to work on them (i do all my own repairs on both). I highly recommend working on it yourself and to do so, INVEST in a good Haynes or Chilton repair manual. Good luck and drive slow!
Q:When recovering the car the cop just was really rude then the forensic officer just blew me off he lifted 3 finger prints and was done I had to point out to him the grape faygo can in the back seat and tell him that wasn‘t mine but maybe DNA could be on it. It was almost as if I was bothering him and he was just going through the motions. Has anyone ever been through this where the person was caught because of finger prints and if so how long did it take? It‘s been a full 24 hours since they tooke the prints now.
Unless you live in a small town, or your car was stolen during a big rash of stolen cars (possibly by a car theft ring) there is no realistic consideration that the police will submit any forensic evidence for examination on your recovered stolen car. First of all the was RECOVERED. That means either you (or the insurance company) got something back. Unless you are in a small towns, most cities experience thousands of stol;en cars annually. There is just not enough time to devote to investigating single car thefts. It is off course different if there is a pattern of thefts that yields some investigative potential, or there is a known suspect. Also, real life is not like TV. DNA testing is a time consuming process, and most cities and states have understaffed and overworked laboratories. I have waited months to get DNA results back on Homicides. And, computers don't ID fingerprints. AFIS computers select a list of potential candidates and a human examiner has to compare the print and make the ID. Many (maybe most) latent prints don't have sufficient ridge detail to even be entered into the AFIS system. To get prints into the system on a nonviolentccrimecould take several wweeksto several months, depending on where you live. When I was a line squad detective, I arrested lots of criminals (all types) based on fingerprint identification. But the only car theives I caughtin that way were prolific professional car thieves, who usually had the cars chopped before they were reciovered. In those cases, actually recovering and processing a car was valauable. I have been a detective for the last 30 years. I spent 6 years as a crime scene unit supervisor, and I can't imagine tying up valuable lab time on a case like yours. The time and expense involved in DNA testing, especially without a known suspect can't be justified in this case. Sorry, but that is the reality of the situation.
Q:My daycare is in these apts. So when theres no parking the apt manager lets you park in the hadicap spot to drop off your kid. Everyone does it. I dropped off my girl at 5am. gone for litterally bout 2mins and this tow truck is backing up to my car. I didnt know it was for me. i thought it was a car leaving. So I started to get in my car when i saw him put the bars under my tires an lift the car. He wouldnt let me go till i payed $100 to drop it. is that leagal?!
I'd say you left out some details. They don't hook them up if you're sitting in them, and they don't wait by your daycare while you go in for '2 minutes'. If it is in the air when you show up, you pay up. Next time you see everyone else jumping off a cliff, park in a legal spot before you join them.
