- Q:Another laminate flooring question.I am laying this floor in a family room which has a total of 7 doorways. What is the best method of installing this kind of floor along(not through) doorways?
- just keep in mind that laminate floats, so it needs to be able to move underneath the door jamb. when you say doorways, are there doors or just openings? if its an opening, then you can cover it with a baseboard. if its a door, then use a dremel cut off wheel to notch out a little of the jamb, and tuck the laminate just barely under the jamb, so there is a little hollow there but you cant see it. cover the ends with a transition or a reducing moulding (sold at hardware stores, depends on if the laminate is taller, shorter or the same as whats on the other side of the door)
- Q:Has anyone had any issues with installing kitchen cabinets over Pergo floors? The installation instructions don't recommend it, I was wondering why? I'm screwing the cabinets do the floors or anything, and have left the appropriate space for expansion around the perimeter.Just looking for some personal comments on your experience with Pergo.Thanks!
- i think of that ensure you flow with the wood. it would look quite large with the pergo floor. I quite have pergo in my eating room and lounge, yet we've not placed it interior the kitchen yet. we even have wood cabinets. my neighbor has pergo in her kitchen with wood cabinets and it sounds as though quite large.
- Q:I have a painted floor over concrete. Want to put a surface down (not tiles). I have looked at peel'n'stick vinyl flooring, vinyl sheeting and have read about lino.What would be a good fix for this area? What can anyone recommend? Eventually the laundry will be rebuilt (5 yrs +)cheers
- I highly recommend ALLURE Vinyl Plank Flooring if your painted floor is even enough.
- Q:year after years, the vinyl floor very hard to get it out from the plywood floor.
- Honestly, it's a very difficult to impossible task. You'll use a lot of muscle power trying to unsuccessfully remove the vinyl. There are electric machines available which allow you to sand the floor down, but still you can't totally remove the vinyl without causing undue damage to the wood below. Best would be to sand it a little bit, make it rough and then lay another vinyl or ceramic tiles on top of it. This would be the quickest and best solution. Take care.

- We control this situation called the seam, there are several may cause this situation, one is not in place, the second is the weather if it has been too dry, the third is the quality of the floor itself, it is recommended to find manufacturers to the scene to see a bit!

- Q:Hi,I am puzzled a little bit. I always thought that the expression FLOOR can have many meanings (like carpet, hardwood flooring, other kinds of flooring, tiles...). However I found out that the word floor is used only for hardwood flooring, vinyl flooring and other types of flooring. - My floor theme freshman year was really cool. Not an all guy floor but a good theme for guys. It was like double identity. For example you have two people in a room. One of their name tags on the door would be Clark Kent and the other Superman. Or Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I'm a girl and mine was like Posh Spice and my Roommate Victoria Beckham.
