Q:Our smoke detectors were beeping and we don't want to go to the store tonight. We took all the batteries out thinking that would stop the chirping. It didn't so we disconnected them from the power source altogether. The units themselves are still chirping! We put them in the garage and will get batteries tomorrow; but how could this be?
