- We went over this topic in my cognition psychology class. It was several years ago, but I remember a little about it. Metacognition is being aware of your thought processes. When you're learning material, it's being aware of how you learn, recognizing whether or not you've grasped the material, and knowing what you need to do to better understand what you're learning. Some cars have laser guided cruise control which may be setting it off. I have only had two laser false alarms with my Valentine One and usually it is due to some vehicle having laser guided cruise control or a certain type of brake lights.
