Why Are the Russians Still Using Vacuum Tubes In Many Technologies, EMP?
EMP's or Electro-Magnetic Pulses could knock out our entire defense system which runs by PC's.EMP's shut down all electronics including PC's!! These weapons are not directly responsible for the loss of lives, but can disable some of the electronic systems on which industrialized nations are highly dependentDevices that are susceptible to EMP damage, from most to least vulnerable: 1Integrated circuits (ICs), CPUs, silicon chips 2Transistors 3Vacuum tubes (also known as thermionic valves) 4Inductors, motorsTransistor technology is likely to fail and old vacuum equipment surviveHowever, different types of transistors and ICs show different sensitivity to electromagnetism; bipolar ICs and transistors are much less sensitive than FETs and especially MOSFETsTo protect sensitive electronics, a Faraday cage must be placed around the itemSome makeshift Faraday cages have been suggested, such as aluminium or aluminum foil.

what is the mass of aluminum produce in 1.00 hr by the electrolysis of molten AlCl3 if the electrical current is 8.0 A
It may not look like it, but this is just a mole conversion problemWhere students have difficulty is in grasping the concept of amount of electricityThis is just equal to current x time, because current is simply the rate of flow of electricity: Current (A) x time (s) charge (C) 1 Faraday 1 mole electronsSo divide the total charge by Faraday's constant to get moles electronsThink of the charge on aluminum, and how many electrons you need to produce one neutral AlThen work out how many moles Al you are going to make altogetherFinally multiply by molar mass Al to get g AlBTW: molten AlCl3 only exists under pressure and does not really conduct electricityLook up aluminum in Wikipedia to find out what the real electrolytic process is for making it.
Ive heard put potatoes in with the fish, burning coffee on a foil on the burner, boiling vinegarAny GREAT ones that you know that work??Quick please :) !! I'm cooking in an hour
Chrome, but any color will be black after about a year
I was told rubber loses air naturally with time, they are gatorskin tires on a 1996 cannondale R300 aluminum road bikeI rode a 200 miler on this bike and the pressure kept dropping from 120 lbs to 80 lbs pressure between fill-upsWhy? Is it pressure put on the front tire? I don't ride it but every few weeks, and the pressure dropsI can understand thatBut why during a ride? Is this bike fit for a 115 mountain climb ride? There may be some in the tire inner wall poking at the tube, though I doubt itI've installed three tubes, presta, and they kept blowing at the valveI hear it is better to ride on a full pressure tire because it is better for itW/o telling me to get a tune-up, what advice may you have?
blowing at the valve' - is that different from leaking? take a leaky tube out and do the water-tank dunk test to see where the leak is how are you measuring pressure? because you can easily let out 40lbs, in a small whoosh, just getting a gauge on, if you aren;t fast and with a presta valve, you have to let some air out just to check it [if you aren;t using a pump/gauge] wle.
I love my computer, we have been through a lotIt had apple care and that was great but that expired last summerMy power button no longer worksI just don't shut if off because the actual button has no response so I know it won't turn on.The plastic around the screen is also in horrible shape, breaking and chunks missing. The computer itself still works great.Question: How do I go about getting those things fixed, do I just get the apple estimate and go with that?Would it be more cost effective to just get another one, and hope that those problems do not happen with the new aluminum bodies of the pro?
Refractory is a type of material which is designed for use in high heat environments such as kilns and furnacesThese materials should be chemically and physically stable at higher temperatureThey must be resistant to the thermal shockThey should be chemically inert and have specific values of thermal conductivity and coefficient of thermal expansion.
Ivan needs $35 to buy gasoline for his truckHe visits a recycling center toting several bags of aluminum cansThe recycling center pays 73 cents for every pound of aluminum cansIf each empty can weighs 0.5 ounces, how many cans will Ivan need to earn his gas money? Round to the next highest canOne pound is the same as 16 ounces A)836 cans B.) 1,535 cans C.) 1,140 cans D.) 672 cans
hello,if you want to preserve the colour and flavour, after you boil them for 1 minute, place immediately in ice water, very important to remember that all things heated will carryover cook, this means that foods will continue to cook after you remove them from the heat.sometimes its neccesary to stop the cooking processas for what t do next, great in salads, pasta dishes with a little broccoli and parm cheese,or i like them saute,d with onion and butter, salt and peppergood luck
I'm not sure if it was washed, so I quickly washed it with soap and war/hot water.I am cooking potatoes and notice a poison-like smellPerhaps it is the pan itself? Is this safe? I my food safe to eat?
No, not a poison like smell!! that is the rust resistant coating they put on the outside of the pan burning offIs ok! But I would still have done my cast iron burning before putting any food in it even if it says it is already seasoned I scour them inside and out with SOS or other soap steel wool pad, rinse well in very very hot to boiling water, grease them inside and out with CRISCO, put in oven at 400F on aluminum foil for an hourSmells like it is burning - that vicious odor you got. Then grease it again and cook it again - about 3 times on the insideYes! I scour my cast iron with steel wool soap pads!! Every time I use them! Mine were inherited from granddad who was a wagon boss with one of the old ranches in NM and had a full cook set of cast iron and he scoured it too! He would not eat with cooks who did not sterilize and reseason their cookware each meal.
