Posted in the wrong place because of the word 'metal' in the question - needs to be put in music area. And my experience is that playing metal strings vs nylon is mostly a matter of a different sound, not a different technique, although some techniques sound better on the metal. Of course, if you mean like heavy metal music that is a whole nother (disgusting) bag.

I was just wondering... Why do people hate heavy metal?

There is no transparent metal in any phase except the gaseous phase. Other than that, the metal would just have to be thin enough to let light through, or be cross-hatched or something. But no, there is no transparent or even translucent metal.

There is so many names and different subgenres. Thrash, groove, metalcore, deathcore, death metal, doom metal, black metal, gothic metal, speed metal, power metal. I mean, it kinda makes it seem like black sabbath and judas priest are the only heavy metal bands, ya know what i mean? So what is considered heavy metal?

Blackfoot always had a good hard metal edge to them. Pantera, of course. Derek Miller is a newcomer with a hard southern sound, even though he's Canadian. I was hard pressed to believe he didn't grow up in sweaty bars across the Bible Belt.

Gunna try to write some songs. stuff that is genres like melodeth, satanic metal, and just regular ol metal. what would be a good heavy tuning for me?
