Shop floor bedroom to shop wood flooring, solid wood flooring but the feeling is very delicate, do not wear, even with a few years spent, how to do?
Traditional solid wood flooring, the surface is only covered with a layer of paint, wear resistance is indeed worse than the composite floor. The two floor is one or two years after the emergence of the ring, the reason is a long time wooden keel appear moist, loose. If in the same place, back foot down a voice that did not handle continuous keel, need to open the floor to redo the grassroots. If the noise is due to the displacement of wooden piece keel keel to local subsidence caused by the middle of a few can be drawn in parallel with the noise floor block, inserting wooden pads at the keel below, the floor can be re embedded.
We have tried a floor scraper - did not do the job. We have tried an air chisel - did not do the job. The only sure way so far is a flat end crowbar and a sledge hammer and a lot of sweat.
Set a circular saw to the thickness of the wood and make many cuts across the grain every foot or so.That way you are removing small pieces which are easier than longer planks. Then its called sweat blood and tears unfortunately. A super bar and a good 20 oz hammer will do. The other way which it a lot easier but more costly is a panther or other heavy electric floor scraper. It still is easier on the machine also to again cut across the grain every foot or so. The smaller you make the pieces the easier they come up. Good Luck
I plan on converting my carpet to Engineered Wood. Should I use gluedown or floating floor? I heard gluedown is better because it won't create noise when you walk. Does gluedown work for Engineered wood? thanks
Floating floor is much easier to repair.
Good evening. I'm currently having a contractor install engineered hardwood on my steps. I have 3 planks that are 3/8 think. He is in the middle of construction now.
This Site Might Help You. RE: Stair noses with engineered hardwood flooring? Good evening. I'm currently having a contractor install engineered hardwood on my steps. I have 3 planks that are 3/8 think. He is in the middle of construction now. i noticed the stair noses aren't flush with the stairs. They are higher by a little bit. i asked the contractor...
We bought a house with engineered oak hardwood floors that look to be 3mm thick. We're trying to determine if we can refinish them or if we just need to replace them, but we're not sure how to tell if they have am aluminum oxide finish. Is there a way to tell without knowing the manufacturer or any other related info?
Not so much, no. There's no test that you can do at home that can tell you if these engineered floors have an aluminum oxide finish or another type of modern finish. But unfortunately, chances are it's AO. Most engineered floors, especially those that aren't super expensive (so floors bought through THD and etc.) are AO.
I'm re-doing my bathroom and am wondering if I should lay the engineered wood flooring down under the new shower/bathtub, or should I install that first and lay the flooring around it?
after but a wood flooring near water is probably not a good choice, a ceramic tile or other water proof flooring would be a wiser choice for a bathroom
