Gypsum board has no formaldehyde
Gypsum board does not contain formaldehyde, gypsum board production was mainly based on building gypsum. Can be assured that use.
I have recently put up some plasterboard (or gyproc) in my kitchen and need to seal it (as it's behind a sink and a cooker). I have bought a tub of PVA, but there are no instructions on the back for what ratio to mix it to apply to the gyproc to waterproof it... Any ideas?
It really all depends on the level of waterproofing that you require. PVA is a good bonding improver but is not recommended as a waterproofer although it is often used as such. PVA will re-emulsify when it becomes damp, leading to possible delamination problems. SBR is a very similar looking product to PVA, but is more expensive and better for waterproofing applications as it will not re-emulsify once it is fully cured. Alternatively you can go for a full under tile tanking system such as Aquaproof. These systems are designed to be used behind tiles is showers, bathrooms, kitchens in apartment blocks. It may however be a bit over the top for a splash back!
will a plasterboard wall hold a 8.7kg telly on a bracket?
Yes as the weight is in a downward direction make sure you use plasterboard fixings work carefully and don't make the holes too big if you are using plasterboard plugs then a good test is to hang on the bracket as a test before fixing the tv. if you are not sure then fix a 9mm plywood or MDF panel the same size as your bracket then you can use additional fixings good luck
Replace rippled plasterboard tape?My house's interior walls are all plasterboard - not plaster on brick. As is usual with modern houses (built 1995) the vertical joints at the corners of the walls are joined by plasterboard tape. Unfortunately due to differential expansion/contraction the tape has become rippled. As I am about to paint a bedroom, should I replace the rippled tape with new plasterboard tape and apply some kind of polyfilla, smooth and sand it, OR expect continued minor movement and fill the corners with some kind of decorators caulk instead of plasterboard tape?I should add I think the movement is because the walls are made of different materials - one is an end wall - plasterboard on brickwork, the other a sloping ceiling, presumably plasterboard nailed to batons?? So, different degrees of exapnsion / contraction according to the temperature rather than settlement.
Inside corner or outside corner? Inside corner use Plaster Patch and more drywall tape. Apply with a putty knife, let dry, sand. You might need a second coat. After that prime, then paint. Outside corner I would use some corner bead then plaster patch or spackle.
Gypsum board ceiling expansion joints how to deal with, is a direct patch, or the first gypsum powder stitched in the patch bar. Is it with white latex
Use putty cramps and then use white latex paste seam.

what is found in plasterboard aicd, base, salt?
Gypsum's solubility in water is quite limited and is also retrothermal, but it would be slightly basic. As a solid, it is technically calcium sulfate dihydrate, a hydrated salt.
I have a hollow inner plasterboard wall with no bricks or breeze blocks inside it jus two sheets of plasterboard. I was wondering what method i would use to mount the tv without it falling off.Answers would be greatly appreciaited ..
Don't just attach it to drywall or plaster (too brittle and not strong enough). Anchor it to studs in the wall with large enough screw bolts (not nails). You may need a stud finder (which uses magnetism to locate where the drywall is nailed to the studs). Are you sure it is two sheets of plasterboard (why)? My old home (built 1910) is mostly drywall over plaster.
