- Q:I have a chevy blazer ls model, i was trying to replace a fuse in my car when i accidentally pulled out the fuse for the tranny. Now the check engine light is on. Why is it on? Can i reset it?
- Pull the fuse for the ECM/PCM for a few seconds, that is enough to reset the ECM/PCM if OBD2 (1996 and later). If this is OBD2, and the light is not flashing, it is not a serious problem. OBD2 systems take multiple restarts (up to 50) after a problem has been resolved, to turn the light off. Or, you can go to an auto parts store, and they should be able to turn the light off if OBD2.

I located a pair of airplane landing lights , and was thinking of installing them on my truck as fog lamps ,no amber lenses, just plain white bright lights that‘ll reach out Are they a good idea ? - The ABS easy got here on because of the fact the pc that runs it has a application that gadgets a code and lighting fixtures a warning easy for low voltage ranges. it is to dodge an ABS adventure that the pc can't furnish sufficient ability to rigidity the actuators. Get the alternator, belt, and battery replaced. in case you like front pads, get them achieved while you're at it!! do no longer scrimp and shop once you pronounced you have 2 young ones interior the vehicle. this would be somewhat a bill, yet plenty below a clean motor vehicle. massive image here. solid success.
- Q:auto zone says my code and check engine light is a small vacume leak some where help?
- The dealer will pull the exact same code as Autozone. So if the code says you have a vacuum leak, then you have a vacuum leak. A minor leak can be caused by a loose gas cap. Check that first. Make sure it fits nice and tight. Make sure the gasket on it is good too. If you want the dealer (or any mechanic) to tell you WHY, then they will charge you for a diagnosis. If you want to find the leak yourself, grab a can of ether (starting fluid) and follow the link. Don't use carb cleaner. It's really not flammable (which is what you need here). Besides, ether is cheaper.
- Q:My check engine light is flashing when i accelerate on my 1989 ford bronco. it doesn't flash with coasting or just idling. Only when i am accelterating. Auto Zone cant read it because it is a soft code. How do i find out why it is flashing?
- You can do all this for free if you know how to work the system and by that I mean Walmart. The system is Walmart. Go to your local walmart and pick up an onboard diagnostics system. Hopefully you have a 97 or newer vehicle. Look for the O.B.D. II package that says it will turn off your check engine light. It works because I have tried it myself. You don't turn the car on though (just read the instructions). Once you complete all the instructions it will make the light turn off. This doesn't mean that it fixed the problems or that the light will never turn back on again. Just drive for about 15 minutes and the light should come back on. That should give you a fresh start. Now turn the car off and plug in the O.B.D. II in again. Now you can proceed to write down the codes and look them up in the book provided. Once you have all your codes and have written down what each code means on a piece of paper, you can go back into Walmart and go to the refunds section. Tell them the equipment you bought doesn't plug into your car's onboard computer because its the wrong model. They will give you your money back and thats how you do all this for free.

- You answered your own question, beyond that you'd have to call your local dealer and even they may not have an exact date. I'm sure the initial supply will be very limited and some dealers have likely pre-sold their early supply. Hyundai's website has no information on pricing or release date yet, the dealer is your best resource!
- Q:I have a 1995 Chevrolet c1500 with the 5.7L engine. Today I started my truck, with no problems ran perfectly. Drove to the gas station, got gas, then restarted my truck and all of the sudden it was at a higher idle around 1100 rpms, the check engine light came on and when I shifted to drive, the tires squealed a little. When driving I noticed it was hesitating to shift and shifted kind of roughly when it did finally shift. I have kept up with maintenance and take the best possible care of it. Like I said it just randomly started acting up when i restarted it after about 5 minutes. Any idea of what could cause this?
- I currently have the same issue and I got a TPS trouble code and a EGR trouble code. In the mornings it idles high and has a check engine light, shifts into gear rough, has difficulty upshifting unless I give it extra throttle. It shifts rough when it does. If I accelerate too fast it will bog the engine. BUT.If the weather warms up, on the way home it runs just fine. I'm headed to address the EGR solenoid now and will advise if that works.
- Q:The TC warning light comes on during slow ( city) speeds on my 5.3L 2wd 2005 Tahoe LS but the TC light goes off at highway speeds. Does this point to a sensor leak? The brakes when applied at slow speeds do make some noise at times ( but not all the time) when the TC light is on.
- J. D., To clarify, I am not an auto technician. In the owner's manual on page 3-68 it says, if the brake traction control system activates constantly or if the brakes have heated up due to high-speed breaking, a TRACTION SYS LIMITED may appear. Per the manual, this is normal and the message should only display briefly. There is also more detailed information beginning on page 4-9 through 4-13. However this light could still indicate it needs to be serviced. If you feel unsafe, I would take it a Chevrolet Certified Technician.
