- Q:For that size whats the best tire you can get period?Bonus Question: What‘s the best tire of that size under $500?
- no longer nicely surely worth the attempt to make your guy or woman when you consider for you to wreck your self if it fails. I purely injured myself on my bike and it fee me $a million,000 regularly practitioner visits. Plus, it heavily isn't as versatile and uncomplicated to apply. purely purchase it. this is stunning.
- Q:What are the best tires to have for rainy, soggy weather, ford taurus?.What makes these tires the best? What should I look for when choosing tires?
- Since you have a Ford Taurus and not a sports car or a truck, you'll probably require a set of Standard Touring All-Season tires for wet weather. There is a wide range of prices you can pay for these tires depending on what's important to you. Price. Road noise. Treadwear. Brand. You can go to the Tirerack website below and check out what are some best selling tires for your car's make and model and has plenty of customer reviews of the tires. You don't necessarily have to buy from this site.but it's VERY informative about making a tire purchasing decision and will give you an idea of how much a tire should cost you if you decide to go to a local tire shop. Don't forget to factor in labor and tire removal cost of about $10-15 extra per tire if you buy locally. For example.the tires they recommend for a 2001 Ford Taurus LX with factory tire size (215/60/R16) are: Bridgestone Potenza G 009 (High Performance Tire) $80/each Continental Touring Contact AS (Standard Touring All-Season) $68/each Yokohama AVID TRZ (Standard Touring All-Season) $75/each
- Q:How aircraft tires differ from car and other road tiresin general?
- Aircraft tires have to take a lot of shock and are used for short periods of time. Automobile tires have to handle steering and acceleration, aircraft tires don't.
- Q:Say for example that my tires are supposed to be at 30psi according to the owners manual. The air in the tires can only be released, so wont the tires be under 30 in not too long unless i check every fews days or so? so the manual saying 30, does that mean that maybe the tires are best at 28-29? and do 30, to be safe according to the manual? or should i just do 30+ always. and i doesnt matter what the tire says, right?thanks
- Not just permeatation as others have stated, but tires also change pressure due to the ambiant air temperatures. Still, loss of more than a pound or two per week indictes other problems, such as puncture or leaking stem. A properly inflated tire is best for safety and economy. Too much air lessens the footprint on the road, too little affects braking and steering and generates excess heat leading to shorter tire life. Also can use more fuel. Not all tires require the same air pressure. Check your vehiclle owner's manual or your tire dealer to be sure of what is correct.
- Q:I recently bought new tires for my 07‘ Chevy Silverado and I was asking about larger rims and tires possibly 20 inch or more and the gentleman said that larger rims and tires on newer vehicles will affect my on board computer and he does not recomend it. Is this true? I see vehicles all the time with larger rims and tires.
- Yes, it will definitely affect the calculations. The onboard computer does not know what size tires you put on - it has been setup by the factory to assume the diameter of the factory recommended tires that are on the tire sticker (usually located on the driver side door frame). If you are lucky to have a computer that you can reprogram then good for you - most do not allow changing the tire size AFAIK. Those other people who have changed their tires are also having issues, but for the most part they might not realize the calculations have been off, since the change might be small for them.
- Q:Car tires no gas, but also open it?
- Do not open the wheel, you can help insurance, or temporary inflatable, if not much leakage, you can open to the repair shop
- Q:I recently bought a Kinetic Kurt trainer- I wanted to buy a training tire so it would be quieter and not wear out my good rear tire. The guy at REI told me I might as well go with a regular tire, use my normal tube and just buy a cheepo tire. Is he right? Is there a reason why I might want a trainer specific tire?
- Interesting question but I believe that if you consider the physics of a trainer you'll find that there will be little wear on the tire when you're using the trainer. What causes wear on a tire is the rubbing together of the road surface and the tire as it rolls, leans in turns and reduces your speed when braking. Remember that the only points of contact between your bike and the road surface are the tires. Of course, the rougher the surface of the road the more wear will occur. When you're on a trainer the tire is in constant contact with the generally smooth surface of the trainer and there's minimal friction between the two round objects turning at the same speed so tire wear is minimal. In a trainer there's no leaning in the turns, no braking, and no rubbing between a rolling tire and a static road surface. The biggest single reason for using a different tire would be the noise issue. The more aggressive the tread design the more noise it'll make on the trainer or on the road. I think that for the most part, if your good tire were a smoother tread, any wear occurring while it was in the trainer would be negligible over the long haul.
- Q:what is the deal with rain tires? why arent they using them in japan? are they only for road courses?
- the thing is they delayed the japan race because or weepers (places where water is seeping through the road) in one turn. They can't use they during the race because not the whole road is wet and full of puddles. There is different friction in that corner which can be very dangerous. Rain tires get hot very quick and they shouldn't be used when its not raining. It can cause over heating which is also dangerous. I am not sure if they are only for street courses.
- Q:If I change from P235/75/R15 tires to P225/60/R15 tires, how much lower will my vehicle be and how off will my speedometer be (how much faster will it read)?Vehicle is an ‘88 Ramcharger, P235/75/R15 is the stock tire size.
- you are going shorter and wider but it shouldn't make much of a speedo difference. will lower vehicle about half an inch. you are only going one size shorter which is in factory allowance.
- Q:Why do car tires go nitrogen
- Nitrogen flame retardant, eliminating the tire from the inside of the possibility of spontaneous combustion
