- Hmm i doubt you are allergic to the leather from the sofa. In my opinion it would most likely be from the newly fitted carpet. There are different types out there, and some are well known to affect asthma sufferers (even if you dont have asthma the small fibres can affect your breathing). If i were you i would go see your doc and book a full allergy screening before you make any hasty decisions.

- I think its neat. It looks nice and deep, it's stylish, but also looks like it'd be great to cuddle up with somebody and watch a movie. I like the style, the wide arms are fun and convenient to set things on (although that could cause clutter). It also looks heavy, but if your not planning on moving around, that shouldn't really be a problem!

Somewhere you would feel really comfortable.. sit and think for a while... imagine your perfect space... what kind of colours are you drawn to? wood floors are nice, and would be warmer than tiles, both are easy to clean. Think about what you would really like from your space..is it somewhere you want to chill out? entertain? get a piece of paper and just try and think about all the things you would love in your house... try the website for Ikea, they have some pretty funky stuff, and their catalogues have made-up room scenes in the pictures.. good luck!

- Q:I know a loveseat is a small sofa that seats two, but is there a name for a longer sofa that bottom-wise, seats two? I'm picturing a long sofa that has two upright cushions and two seat cushions, where width-wise and elbow-wise, three people fit fine, but one of them would be sitting in the middle where the cushions meet. Is that still a loveseat, regardless of the overall length of the thing? Does it have a different name when it's that big?

- I've seen furniture of that type (I think they're called fainting couches) in mainstream furniture stores, where the customer can select upholstery fabric, like they can on any sofa or chair, and end up with a custom piece. Start with the most traditional furniture stores where you live. They may not have many, or even any, but a large one should. Skip discount places and department stores' furniture departments. We shopped for this sort of thing for our living room at one point, but in the end decided to go with more modern pieces, which we're still using. I remember we had our pick of four or five at that time, though, and this was in Texas, where you don't think you'll find a lot of Victorian-inspired furniture.
