Q:I have 3 Phottix battery pack for my 3 Canon Speedlite 600ex-rt and I am wondering about getting a full charge out of them. When I am charging them up after a while the red light will turn green showing that they are done charging, but if I unplug them for a second or two and plug them back it the light will be red again for another 10 minutes or so. Is this helping it get more of a charge or not? Thanks: No it is best to charge until the light changes green and leave it at that. Many rechargeable have memories and the frequent charging cuts done on the entire life of the battery. It is best to use that age old rule regarding batteries--------READ THE MANUAL.

Q:I have a portable dvd that is model number pdv-288 that my dad got me years ago and it has been working fine but then when when to charge the battery after I have not changed it in years the green light on the battery would flash green the hole time it has been charging for over 10hours now but when I un plugge it from change just have the battery on the dvd only so I can turn it on to watch a move the portable dvd player light will not turn green to let you know it is on but when it is plugged in to the wall with or with out the battery pack plugged it it will turn on but i will not turn on with just the battery packand I was wornding how can I fix it.: Get a new battery pack, you old one has aged, badly. I was wondering whether regular double AA batteries are better compared to the digital cameras that uses battery packs. Sorry for the wordy ness.: I use my camera so much that it would be insane not to use a rechargeable battery. I have 2 batteries so I always have one charged and in storage. You do not want your camera battery to die when the information comes off your camera as you can lose images. So be cautious and buy a camera with a chargeable battery and get a spare. Oh yes, and make sure you keep them handy and remember to put both battieries and charger in your storage case for travel. I have never run out of batteries and I take hundreds of pictures every week.

Q:I found an old xbox 360 controller lying in a shoebox. The controller itself is 5 years old, but I haven't used it in the last 10 months, about when the batteries were put in. There were 2 AA batteries still left inside of it. Just for giggles, I tried turning it on, and the green led lit up for a sec then turned off. There's no sign of visible damage. It's how you choose to charge it that's different. There's the Quick Charge kit that comes with 2 packs and plugs into a wall outlet to charge them. It comes in handy if you use more than one controller at a time. There's the Play and Charge which charges the battery with a cable through your 360 while you play. You can also use it through your computer's USB to charge. There's also the Nyko Charge Base which will charge 2 packs while they're still in the controllers. The Play and Charge is the best for your money since it's only $20.

If you want to downsize that a bit, search yahoo shopping for a NiMh 12v battery pack. You will have to get a specialized charger, though. A car charger will destroy a NiMh pack.
