- Q:the bearings are abec 3's and they just dont seem to go as fast as they used to. any suggestions on how to make them go faster?
- I used to do this with old bearings: Soak them in soap water. It removes all the lubrication and makes them go really really fast. Of course, without the lubrication they won't last very long, and they are likely to freeze up or break apart, which would make you fall very violently. Which is why I used only old bearings to do this, and only used them for a short time before they crapped out.
- Q:im getting a evo longboard and i have a stella a form and i want to know if i have to clean my bearings and when should i do it and where do i get them
- You should clean your bearings about every month or couple months, or after you have ridden in the sand or water. When you clean you bearings you take off the rubber/metal seal on the bearing. You then place them in Acetone or High % Rubbing Alcohol and shake them around to loosen the dirt. After, you quickly dry them with paper or a towel. Once they are completely dry, you lube them with Bones Lube, White Lithium Grease, or Sewing Machine oil. DO NOT USE WD-40! Then put the rubber seals back on and you are done. Check out tutorials on youtube to get a better understanding.
- Q:what type of abecs, brand, ect. im tryin to build my own but i would like to know what good parts to put into it before i build it
- thank you for your time have a nice day
- Q:I work with publix supermarkets. my manager is being a stickler all of a sudden about not stashing floats in the freezer eben u go on break because it ruins the bearings .. I dont know if thats the actual name of the carts that we use.. They are for our stock and have a center wheel set for pivoting. Can anyone confirm if it is bad? if not, where is a source I can shove in my bosses face
- Yep - bad news for the bearings. The wheel bearings in those things are unsealed ball bearings and are susceptible to getting water inside. Freezing makes the water crystallize and when it melts the dispersed water is changed to droplets that rust the balls and races. Bicycle wheels have the same problem. The carts belong to the store and the manager is responsible for seeing they are treated properly. As an employee your job is to treat them the way the manager says. If he says pour acid on them, pour acid on them.
- Q:I got a new bmx frame, my old one was flatland and looked funny on all my street parts.Anyway, i tried putting my old fork into the new frame, along with everything else to see if it would even fit. When i put in the fork, obviously it fit since its standard 1-1/8. However, once i tried pushing the fork all the way up, the bearings at the bottom wouldn't allow the fork to go any higher, they seem to big for the frame. i took the bearings out and tried the fork alone, the fork fits fine and looks like there is still space for bearings, but much smaller bearings. is there such a thing? smaller bearings? i thought it was all standard.. if there are i will simply go to the bike shop and buy these bearings.
- It shouldn't be too thick, I've framed things thicker than a puzzle. There is this sealer you can get a a craft store to put on the puzzle so the pieces don't come apart, that's if you don't mind it being together forever. I like to use swiss clips for frameless frames (kind of an oxymoron).
- Q:What type of wheel bearings are serviceable?
- I think all of them are. For top performance some people put new grease on them every 2,000 miles which is about one year of raiding for an active rider.
- Q:I have inline skates manufactured by K2, I need new wheels, and maybe bearings, I noticed that non-brand names are cheaper, are most common types of inline skate wheels and bearings interchangeable?
- This Site Might Help You. RE: Are K2 rollerblade wheels interchangeable with most other wheels? Are the bearings? I have inline skates manufactured by K2, I need new wheels, and maybe bearings, I noticed that non-brand names are cheaper, are most common types of inline skate wheels and bearings interchangeable?
- Q:Ok so ive been skating for like 2 summers and i got a new enjoi deck for christmas with thunder trucks, spitfire wheels, and red bones bearings. the bearings were extremely har to put into the wheel and idk if its supposed to be like that or if it was because of my wheels. also the wheels dont spin completely straight on the bearings, but they almost do?
- problematic matter. check out into yahoo or google. just that can assist!
- Q:what solvents are good for cleaning skateboard bearings?
- Honestly... unless you have very good bearings, the best thing youc an do is toss them and get a new set. Most bearings are inexpensive and rather cheaply made. If you are using something like bones swiss, then take care of them and they can last for years. What do I use to clear my swisses? Gasoline. Its dangerous, but nothing works better. Honestly, just get a new set if you are riding cheap bearings.
- Q:So i have some dirty bearings and im supposed going skating tomorrow and i wanted to know if using ANDIS Clipper Lube/Oil could clean or damage my bearings. PLEASE HELP.
- No. Oil doesn't clean, it just lubricates. Hair clipper oil will work for the lubrication part. It's usually just mineral oil. It evaporated faster than normal bearing oil, but it won't hurt anything. You will just have to lube the bearings more often. You need a solvent to clean bearings. Denatured alcohol is good, and so is carb cleaner.
