Q:i need to ride my bike be cause i just tore it apart to paint it but all my bearings fell apart
Without bearings, you can't steer, if you can't steer, you won't be able to keep the bike upright.
Q:I recently purchased some hockey quad boots, but the bearings are slow so im looking to swap them with some abec 9s or red bones, but the axels on the skates are 7mm. Im used to 8mm axels and fast speed bearings, which are easy to find at that size. Are skateboard bearings suitable for quad skates with 7mm axels?
Skateboard bearings would work, since they are basically the same size as blading bearings. I would recommend Bones Bearings, it doesn't matter which Bones bearings, but here is a short review for Bones: Bones Reds-Best bearings under $20. Spins fast, and smooth. Bones Swiss-Best bearings under $55. One of the bestselling bearings in the world. Spins for about 20-60 seconds. Very fast, and smooth. Bones Super Swiss 6-About $60. An upgraded or better version of the Bones Swiss. Spins a lot smoother, quieter, and faster. Bones Labyrinth- Stronger, faster, and longer-lasting. Costs about $60. Bones Ceramics-The Best bearings ever created. The toughest, fastest, and used by speedy pro skateboarders and bladers. $140, it could last longer than 3-5 years with proper cleaning every 6 months. Also, Bones bearings are not rated ABEC, because ABEC are mostly for machinery. Bones bearings are Skate Rated, specially designed for action sports such as skateboarding and inline skating. Although Abec 7's or 9's would be great, Skate Rated bearings are better. So yeah skateboard bearings are pretty good for 7mm because my cousin had the same size of axles and he uses skateboard bearings. Hope it helps. :)
Q:So i have a longboard and the bearing it came with died on me. Changing my bearings for the first time, i had no idea what i was doing until i look to youtube. I did as they said but something fell out. It was my speed ring. So i changed themas i was told and i put the ring back on before the bolt. I dont know what i did but now it spins very fast but slows down IMMENSLY within 10 seconds of a spin test and stops abruptly. What happened? (note: i skated in the rain... Stupid me)
Well if they are newer bearings you need to break them in what can take awhile depending on how much you skate... it can take a good day to a month or so just break them in and get them going... and from what I read online never use WD40 on them
Q:I want to get a Loaded Ceviche with Randal 150mm trucks and orangatang 4president 83a wheels. I was wondering if the upgrade from skates on haight abec 5 bearings to bones reds bearings is worth $10. Thanks.
yah duude you shood seriously get reds bearings i got reds bearings like 3 days a go and there deffently worth ten bucks even tho i got my for $20. oh yah and if u consider my answer and goes out to get them is that they will make no sound at first like they usually make. here is one way that i no how to get them in, ok 1. get a screw driver and a hammer, then put the rubbery handle part on the bearing thats in the wheel, oh yah push the bearing in the wheel alittle first. lol, ok then the metal part that is stickin up you hit that with the hammer then it shood go in fine, well ok there you how to put it in and get the bearings, well peace out homme g.
Q:I have a 2001 Dodge Durango and it has been making a roaring/humming noise when I drive usually it gets loud when I get up to 15-20 mph. The rpm's are fine and it doesn't overheat so I suspected my wheel bearings. This morning, I jacked up the front and tested both tires. The passenger side had a lot of play in it and when I spun the wheel, it made a slight grinding noise as if something was rubbing. The driver side did not make this noise.1) is this a problem with the bearings?2) if yes, what goes into replacing them?3) is there a website that gives step-by-step instructions for replacing them?
Wheel bearing for sure..take wheel off, look behind the hub where the wheel bolts. there will be three bolts that need to come out. take those out and beat on the outside of the bearing assembly or pry it out of the knuckle with a thin flathead or prybar. honestly not a hard job. ps...new bearing assembly will come with new wheel studs.
Q:I will teach about bearings/bearing problems (trigonometry),and I'm looking for some good and fun teaching motivations or visual aids to catch the attention and interests of the students...Do you know some?or can you site a specific website on some good visual aids and teaching motivation?....thanks a lot! ^_^
Depending on the age group, one of the resources I use is a print from googlemaps of the school. The students have a route they have to plan around different rooms faculties using bearings distances (scales). Make it as hard / easy / fun as you wish. Or a similar idea using a print of an estuary, with shipwrecks marked so they have to either avoid or hit as they wish. They seem to enjoy the crashing part! Other than that, here are some interactive websites to try: www.mathsonline .uk/freesite_to... www.active-maths .uk/whiteboard... (bearings is near the bottom of the page) www.10ticks .uk/s_gamesAndAct.a... good luck
Q:ok ever one says bone swiss bearings spin for ever!!! well i just got a brand new. apsolotly fresh out of the case bones bearings and i put em on my board and they only spin for 12 seconds!! when i skate with them will that losen em up?? if you have bones bearings, how long do yours spin? and how do i make em faster
37 seconds after cleaning and re-lubing. Haven't been broken in yet. Make sure the shields are not dented. they should be flush with the outer race of the bearing. Test: setup Bones Swiss bearings Trucks: Indy Wheels Santa Cruz OG Road riders 75mm 79a I prefer Pig Swiss over Bones, had some that were cleaned and ready for a spare set.
Q:I have abec5 sector9 Grease Ball bearings and I know everyone's been saying to just throw them away, but I don't have the money to buy new ones right now. I was wondering if anyone knew if it was safe to use this cleaning solution on my bearings?Contains: Solvent Naphtha (Petroleum)
Do they have dirt in them? Dirty grease? That cleaner should be fine id recommend a brake parts cleaner its similar compound but stouter. Then regrease them.
Q:Took my car to the mechanic yesterdcay because it was occasionally making grinding noise when turning right they said its the bearings and i don't have the money to get it fixed til next wendesday. I have to drive to school on tuesday which is an hour from my house...will it be dangerous to take this trip before getting it fixed? The car is a 2003 dodge neon
sounds like a bad right front cv axle, if the noise isn't real bad you should be ok until wednesday.
Q:what year did they come out with them? i know swiss came out in 83
Bones Swiss bearings came out in 88. There were other Swiss bearings on the market, though. Reds are much newer, coming to market in the early 2000s
