Q:The light illuminates when there is a malfunction of an exhaust gas related component, and the system is not functioning properly so that the exhaust gas regulation values are not satisfied What does this mean? I have hardly even been driving it at all the last two months. It says to go to the dealer but that is pretty far away and my warranty expired anyway and I cannot afford anything expensive right now. Does anyone know what this might mean and if I should even worry about it or is it something real simple? thanks!: exhaust gas regulation values Im guessing you are getting an egrcode. it actually means exhaust gas recirculation valve. nothing to worry about. you can drive the car with no problem. the problem will come up when it is time for emissions/smog test. the car will fail. other that that, no reason not to drive it.

Q:I have a 2003 Mazda 6. Two weeks ago my check engine light came on. I was told that the code was 126 - And that there was a problem with the coolant system and obtaining optimal performance. The thermastat was replaced and all was OK for a week. However today while driving, I noticed the light come back on. The dashboard guage showed that the engine was running colder than normal (even after for driving on the highway for over 40 miles). Any ideas why the car would be running cold? Q:The Brake Light was blinking and ABS was solid so I changed my front brake pads rotors and sensors. I noticed the front driver side sensor was cut so I had to rewire the sensor by hand.After replacing these my brake light is blinking and ABS is solid. Assuming the alternator is providing juice to the battery you should have no trouble with auto start. Have the charging system and battery checked but I doubt it's the alternator especially since you've been through so many. No way all 4 can be faulty. Also you don't need a huge alternator and stock size will suffice for bright lights and a big horn whereas having a huge stereo would be a different story.

Yesterday i went outside to start it and when i turned the key to ON, it said on the dash that i was in 3RD, but when i turn the headlights on it says its in reverse. I AM LOST ON THIS! can someone please point me in a direction!: Check your wiring is my first thought.... maybe someone tried to hack in a stereo system and the electrical tape finally came loose. You have a short somewhere, try looking behind the stereo head unit, most of the dash and trans hump circuits go through that area.

What would case this?Thanks!: well not know what car you have off the top of my head I'm thinking speed sensor.That is normally the first thing that will light up the ABS and traction control lights.The cars computer doesn't know how fast each wheel is turning(or in your case possibly the output speed of the tranny) it can no longer operate those systems so it gives you those lights in the dash.If you have a front wheel drive car I'm sure they had to remove a wheel or two to get the tranny out so youproblem could be at the wheel or the transmission.Take it back and have them check it out.If you want to arm yourself with a lil info go by a local auto parts chain and have the code read so you know what kind of problem you're dealing with

Q:I just bought a 01 Volvo s60 and i got check engine light on it after one month it says emission system service required and when I went to the auto zone they told me that I need to change the fuel cap and I ordered an original one online and I released the check engine light but I got it again after a week; I use unleaded fuel instead of the required premium fuel, is that can be the reason for this check engine light?: you still could have a fault in the emission system/fuel tank leakage detection for fuel vapors. my guess is a cracked hose going from the charcoal filter to the control valve near it. the hose looks like a big J. the crack can be near the J portion, sometimes on the top, where you need a small mirror to find it, close to the clamp on the charcoal canister. it's a bother the replace the hose, but these things can happen.
