Q:My 2007 Subaru WRX had the Check Engine Light come up, and I took it to Auto Zone for a computer code scan, and here is the result:P0456- Evaporative emission control system malfunctionWhat exactly is that? I know it‘s NOT a fuel/loose fuel cap (that‘d be P0457), so what am I looking at and/or replacing here?Thanks.: I looked it up in my book and p0456 is a evap emission control system leak detected (very small leak) so try buying a new gas cap first as the seal gets bad over time and can cause this.

Q:what does evaporative emission system purge flow mean?: bandit is partly right , the fumes are stored in a canister and occasionally they are drawn in and burnt , hence the term purge .

Q:Light continues to flash and I can not start my car until it stops.: they will do this sometimes if the key is getting worn out on it,that one should have a coded key for it,you may have to have a dealer make you another key for it,my fire bird was doing that ,and after having a key made it stopped doing it,look a the key real good ,and see if it has any bad places on it,good luck with it.

Q:I have seen some comments about unplugging the battery, but I am not sure how to proceed.: Best thing to do is take it to the dealer. its a safety issue, even if you unplug the battery, the problem is not fixed.

Q:I got a new stereo head for my 1999 Ford Contour Sport on my birthday. Since it‘s been installed, I can only get any kind of electrical power when I turn my lights on and the dimmer knob is up all the way. My lights inside don‘t turn on unless my headlights are on and neither does my sound system. I also cannot use my remote lock on my keys unless my headlights are on. I figure it‘s a wiring problem that may have something to do with the stereo head. Any ideas or suggestions as to how to fix it?: Sounds like the stereo was wired incorrectly. I'm not an expert in auto wiring but I have installed my own stereo before and know that they are supposed to be wired a certain way so the power isn't on when the ignition is off etc. I'm not sure why your lights are affecting everything. The only think I can think is whoever wired it up used the wrong wires.
