FAQ
- Basically i'm trying to make a missile silo with an opening and closing roof using pistons.the dimensions are 5x5 and no matter that I do, I can't figure out how to fill the space. help?
- thats hard to explain it here. why dont you try searching on youtube? they will show you a tutorial too.
- The volume of a silo is V=2500*pi*sin(θ). Assuming the original value of θ is pi/2, what angle θ is required to bring the original volume of the silo down by 2%?
- sin π/2 = 1, so the orig. value of V is 2500*π. Reducing volume by 2% gives V = 2450*π So 2450*π = 2500*π*sin(θ), ie sin(θ) = 2450/2500 ≈ 0.98 taking inverse sign gives θ = 1.37 radians, or 78.5 degrees
- A friend and I are going to take a short one day trip to either Otter Creek in Columbus Indiana, or Old Silo in Mt. Sterling Kentucky. I don't know how many people out there have played both, but I figured I would give it a shot. We are in the Cincinnati area, so the drive to Otter Creek is about 75 miles, and 120 miles to Old Silo. They are both about the same cost for 36 holes. Anyone have any reasons to go to one over the other? Thanks
- I can give you half an answer, anyway. Otter Creek is a great golf course! I live in Indianapolis and play a lot of statewide amateur tournaments, and Otter is so well thought of that it is our State Amateur tournament site at least every 3rd year. For 20+ years it was The State Am site every year! And the qualifying fields always swell when the tournament goes back there. It is a big, broad shouldered piece of land, framed by trees and fairway bunkers, with plenty of room to hit the ball but devilish green complexes. Make sure you play the original routing (I believe it is North and West), as there is a 3rd 9 that is OK but doesn't measure up. Don't play the absolute tip tees on holes 7 and 9, but do look back there and see where the tee boxes are. Those holes are for real from back there! While inside, go upstairs and look at all the photos from past state am champs at Otter creek. See how many you have heard of, I think you will be surprised! Have fun!
- I have the height of the right circular cylinder (6.0ft) and the total over all height with both the cylinder and the right circular cone is 10ft. The silo has a capacity of 144 cubic feet. Need to find the diameter.
- So the cone height is 4 feet = 10 feet over all - cylinder height cone volume = (pi/3)*(radius)^2* 4feet height cylinder volume = pi*(radius)^2 * 6 feet height 144 cu ft = sum of above, solve for radius, i get radius = sqrt[144/pi * (3/22)] the diameter is twice the radius. Please check any errors I may have made.
- looking at g22,superfly,silo,king2.price does not matter.i play d.im open for suggestions too.
- I like the superflys because of their ventalation and protection but also perhaps the brass monkeys?
- What is the best fighting military force in the USA?
- Ballistic missile submarines, USAF missile silos... etc. Best by most destructive power.
- It is the only way to keep Israel at bay, don't you think? Once mutually assured destruction is in place, maybe they will all behave and live in peace.
- Iran funds and arms Hezbolalh and Hamas, don't talk to me about peace.
- The U.S. has previously regarded such details as top secret.Just astonishing. Will there be anything left of the USA by 2012?I thought one of the main reasons for secrecy is so that an enemy doesn't know for certain how many warheads we have. So the enemy can never be certain that its own attack plan would be successful.
- look everyone knows we have alot of nukes and that we probably have the most or at least the second most. so you tell me how people knowing we have over 5,000 warheads is going to make the slightest bit of difference? it doesn't. if they knew the locations, types and our plans if we were to use them that would be a different story. but they dont so this information really makes no difference. its like bringing a knife to a gun fight but when you get there you see there is also a tank you have to deal with.
