Why is the second ionization of silicon less than that of aluminum?
In order to move aluminum to its second ionized state, an electron must be removed from a full and stable 3s orbitalWhen silicon is ionized a second time, an electron is removed from the 2p orbital leaving the 3s orbital filledThis requires less energy.

DHS does NOT buy ammo for the militaryMost of what they have bought are hollow points that the military are forbidden from using according to the Geneva convention
The purchase was a MAXIMUM of 450 million rounds, not 1.2 billion, and it's not paid for all nowIt's for all branches of DHS, plus immigration, plus border security, PLUS all their training and target practice which can be thousands of rounds a yearHollow point bullets are perfectly normal bullets used by police everywhere - they aren't aluminum coated bullets like you guys are mistaking them for.
I was just wondering, thank you.
