Basically, i just purchased a Fusion Power Plant 1200watt with 500 RCM watt bass pack. But before i fit it and everything i'd like to know if it'll drain my battery. Over the past year i've had to recharge the battery a couple of times if i use it when the engine isn't running, so if the bass pack will drain my battery i'll buy a new one before i install it!thanks!

you might be able to find a good battery cap to help it run a little longer before your battery dies but inevitably it will happen. it might be cheaper to just carry a portable jump start kit that you charge up that way if your battery dies you got a jump right there. look forward to getting a new GOOD quality alternator within a year so as amp systems burn up factory ones quite easily.

I was just wondering, if I were to take apart both a rechargeable battery pack and a normal AA battery pack, would I be able to replace the back of the rechargeable one with the back of the normal AA one? I have a normal AA pack with a design on it that goes to my controller shell, but I don't want to keep replacing batteries in it, and I don't really want to just go buy rechargeable batteries when I have a bunch of spares for this kind of thing sitting around collecting dust.

I Attach the battery to the back of the DVD player, I plug the cord into the batteries charger port but the lit does not turn on. When I unplug it the next day. IT still is not even charged. How old is the battery pack? If it is a year old (of fairly continual use), then it is shot. Rechargeable battery packs don't last forever. If the pack is new, then the charging circuit inside the DVD player is shot. There is one possibility, that the connection points from the battery to the player are oxidized. If you can get to the little metal points that make the connections from the battery pack to the player (on both the battery pack and the player); take a pencil eraser and rub the metal to shine it up. That might help. If not, the charging circuit is shot. Sorry. .

I want to buy an external battery pack for my iPhone 4 and I see that there are many different levels to choose from. I see packs with 1000mAh, 1800mAh, 1900mAh and so on up to 5000+mAh. My question is what difference does the mAh make in a battery pack? Is it the amount of charge it gives the phone? Is it the length of time it takes to charge? I want to be more educated before I make a purchase.

how much charge should be left in a ni-mh rechargeable battery pack before long term storage?i have a ni-mh battery for a JVC gr-sxm 320u camcorder and i would like to put it in long term storage. the battery i have now is a replacement battery ni-mh. The original was a ni-cd which does not work anymore. i would like to store this battery long term so i would like to know how much charge should be left in the battery pack before storage. should there be 0%, 25%, 50% or 100%?

I would leave at least 50% charge.

I have a battery pack that takes 4AA batteries but the black and red wires got broke off of it. Can I take a 9 volt battery and touch the black and red wires into the 9V and make it work?

Gas stations (what are left of them) always charge high non-competitive prices. The installation is never charged for, unless cables or other parts are needed. The cheapest place for a battery is Wal-Mart, where they go from $60-to probably $150 in extreme cases. But of course you did not take it to Wal-Mart so I am not surprised. I wouldn't necessarily condemn the mechanic on that basis alone--his prices might be fair or good in other areas. I take it you weren't actually broken down so you wanted to know how much he charges for batteries and now you know. Has this guy ever done any work that you were satisfied with? If no, then why bother?

the rate is normally 1/C - the inverse of the current capacity. 1 hour only if you have a Smart Charger and it can sense the heat generated by charging the battery. I recharge my 9.6v/4000mAh pack in 15 minutes, but I have a battery that is MADE for hot charges and my charger is made to push that much current into the battery.
