Built into the hill above the launch pad are a couple of concrete gun batteries from WW II. That entire side of San Pedro is filled with old bunkers and military housing dating from World War I to the 1970's. Check out little known Fort MacArthur where you can sit on top of a huge concrete bunker that used to house a gun battery and look at the ocean and Catalina Island without anyone bothering you. It's next to the Korean Friendship Bell to give you a point of reference. There are also tunnels that connected the different guns. Those are blocked and can't be explored. Plus, you'll get arrested since they're located under the Port of Los Angeles Traffic Control Tower. While in San Pedro explore the Sunken City and hike to the shipwreck along the coast below the bluffs. You need proper hiking boots to see the shipwreck.

Then you proceed as follows: Let h = real height of silo (say it's 30 feet) and d = diameter (say it's 10 feet). (I have no idea how big a silo is - I just made up those numbers). Then you divide by the scale: So let's look at #2 for example. h = 30 = 6 * 5 feet So height of model = 6 inches d =10 = 2 * 5 feet So diameter of model = 2 inches. In order of size, they would be: #1 (largest, twice as big as #2) #3 #2 #6 (smallest: 5/6 the size of #2)
