FAQ

Is anyone familiar enough with asbestos to know if this ceiling tile contains them:It is clearly damaged and need to be removed if it does. Thanks.
No its a fiberglass tile with a decorative covering. Fiberglass is still an irritant though so wear gloves and a mask.
Hi,The felt (or whatever it is made of) ceiling in my car is falling down. I have scraped most of the residual glue off the ceiling made out of fiberglass and what I can off of the carpet/felt part. I've tried a couple of different types of two sided tape and can't get it to stick. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance...
There is a headliner repair spray available at auto parts store. You spray it on the ceiling and the material your are trying to reattach, let it tack up, and then press into place. Works ok unless there is too much residual insulation on the ceiling.
which of the following insulating materials that are used in roofs ( foil, fibreglass batts, seaweed) work by trapping a layer of air in them??
220mm of fibreglass insulation is best for roof space insulation. make sure to cover entire roof space any gaps around Eaves will cause condensation.
I had my house re roofed last year and the roof leaked into a large utility room. I took the drop ceiling out and took down the ceiling panels above it and now I have to replace the insulation and put a ceiling back in. Its a very high celing unless I replace the drop ceiling panels here. Any suggestions? What kind of insulation should I use? I noticed some of the insulation has different numbers and some of it is very expensive so how do I know what to use?
go to lowe's or home depot, someone there will help you with ur problem at no cost. ps. ask for johns manville insulation, it is the best.
My insulation was installed paper towards the roof.
My husband has been in construction for over 15 years, and it ALWAYS goes paper side OUT, it keeps any insulation pieces from coming off onto the people that install the drywall, and if the drywall ever has to be removed due to water damage, etc, the paper should help keep the insulation from falling all over the floor. Insulation has very small fiberglass pieces in it that can get into your lungs if you inhale it and cause serious problems, so if you need to pull it out and re-install it, use a breathing mask! In the case of wet paste can hit the drill drill, no problem. And then safe point is to buy a glass drill on it. Then there is no problem.
What is the difference between ultrafine glass fiber cotton and centrifugal glass wool?
Ultra - fine glass wool Glass wool insulation material is quartz sand, feldspar, sodium silicate, boric acid as the main raw material. After high temperature melting made of less than 2um fiber cotton, and then add thermosetting resin adhesive pressure high temperature stereotypes to create a variety of shapes, specifications of the board, felt, pipe products. The surface can also be affixed with aluminum foil or PVC film. The product has a light weight, thermal conductivity, absorption coefficient, flame retardant performance. Can be widely used in thermal equipment, air conditioning, temperature, hot and cold pipes, oven drying room, cold storage and building insulation, insulation, noise and so on.
We had a plaster ceiling that was cracking. We put new drywall up over the ceiling and finished the seams. We have finished drywall before, but only on wall. Apparently ceilings are alot harder. We have a tetured wall and really do not want a texture on the ceiling (we would never be able to match the textures anyway). We have primed and painted the ceiling with flat paint and can see the seams. We do not have alot of light in the room either. Does anyone have any suggestions to hide the seams? Thanks
