FAQ

We just had our first child, and his room is right above the garage. It is noticebly colder in his room, especially the floor. I used the plastic window kits and that helped, however, the floor is still extremely cold and I would like to at least check the insulation in the garage ceiling. Right now there is drywall on the ceiling, but I have no qualms about ripping it down, not real worried what it looks like. What should I look for...I believe there is very old (50 years) fiberglass insulation but i'm not 100% sure. If there is the old insulation there...should I look to replace it? If so, with what R value...Is this a project that someone without specific experience in the field could complete? I'm pretty handy but certainly not a pro. I'm not worried at all how it looks in the garage.
It is a two person job. Take down the drywall. Examine the insulation that is there. If it looks good and fills the gap vertically and horizontally then leave it be. Add more insulation by getting rigid foam insulation and tacking it to the joists. Then drywall over the insulation. R-30 is a very good target, but go for what you can get. Don't oversuff cavities, that lowers the value of insulation.
has any one used corrugated metal (used comonly on barn roofs and in resturant decor). for a ceiling in a basement. ( will be in bar-living-game open area) want to have access and hate drop ceilings. planning on just screwing to joist. would like to know if you are happy with and if you have any pictures.
My best friends have a rustic country style decor and they've used corrugated metal ceilings in one bathroom and one bedroom--and they look fantastic! Both are painted, which I don't think you can do with that fiberglass stuff. Go for it. Theirs are also screwed to the joists.
Magnesium oxide and magnesium chloride
Magnesium domestic annual output of about 12 million tons. Determination of sulfur and arsenic in sulfur and pyrite and steel. Standard for use as a white pigment. Light magnesium oxide is mainly used for the preparation of ceramic, enamel, refractory crucible and refractory bricks of raw materials. Also used as a polish adhesive url] paint] and paper filler, chloroprene rubber and fluororubber accelerator and activator. And magnesium chloride and other solutions mixed, can be made of magnesium oxide water. Medicine for antacids and laxatives, for gastric acid and more gastrointestinal ulcer disease. Raw materials used as catalysts and magnesium salts in the chemical industry. Also used for the production of glass, dyed meal, phenolic plastic and so on. Heavy-duty magnesia Milling industry for firing and grinding. Construction industry for the manufacture of artificial chemical floor artificial marble insulation board noise board plastic industry used as filler. It can also be used to produce other magnesium salts. For rubber, plastic, wire, cable dyes, paint, glass, ceramics, chemical reagents, medicine, food additives.
I had a stucco like substance on my bathroom ceiling that was peeling and falling off. I scraped it all off and found a layer of pink paint beneath the stucco that also was peeling in many spots. Underneat the paint is plaster that has some spots. I have an exhaust ceiling fan in the bathroom but don't think it works terribly well. I am considering scraping the remaining paint off then filling in uneven spots and corners with spackling compound then painting over the whole thing again but I am concerned that the spackle will not adhere well in the spotted areas. Does anyone have any recommendations?
You can purchase mold killing paint in a number of hardware stores. Go ahead and scrape off the remaining paint, then paint it with the mold killing primer (Kilz), then paint normally. As for the patching: Spray the affected areas with a mildewicide, and then spackle. Paint with mold killing primer, and paint as normal. You might think about replacing the fan as well.
Some people think that do not need to check the color of magnesium chloride, you can know its color, why? Mg (OH) 2 white MgCO3 white Mg (NO3) 2 white Mg3N2 light yellow MgCl2 white From the above to illustrate the problem ...
MgCl2 white From the above to illustrate the problem ... The above is not that the magnesium chloride is white, but also check what
also do the electronic noise makers get rid of the litte critters?
NO to both parts of your question. You will be much better off if you find how they are getting in.

What is fiberglass?
Glass wool is made of centrifugal glass wool Felt is Owens Corning (OC) exclusive patented centrifugal technology, the melting glass fiber and thermosetting resin-based environmentally friendly formula made of adhesive products, is A flexible felt made of fiberglass with a diameter of only a few microns and can be optically selected according to the requirements. It has a large number of tiny air pores, so that it plays a role in thermal insulation, noise absorption and safety protection, steel structure is building insulation, noise absorption of the best materials. Glass wool is a category in glass fiber, is a kind of artificial inorganic fiber. Using quartz sand, limestone, dolomite and other natural ore as the main raw material, with some soda ash, borax and other chemical raw materials into glass. In the molten state, with the external force blowing into the flocculent fine fiber, fiber and fiber between the three-dimensional cross, intertwined with each other, showing a lot of small gaps. This gap can be seen as porosity. Therefore, glass wool can be regarded as porous material, with good insulation, sound absorption performance.
