OK so im painting my walls like a grid art painting, but im painting them on big poster board so i can change it when i want... good idea or no? i have 4 walls and a little wall for my door and every walls going to be different and when its done its going to tell a story with pictures ....do you know what kind of paint would be best? for the poster board? is this a good idea?
So what you're doing, is using large poster bristol board, and on each, you are painting images, that in total, creates a story or day in a life scene, poster paints or craft acrylics may do, maybe do a set of paintings that explain you whole day, or week, or year, maybe do a walk-through on one painting, and each piece is one step, the final piece complete, maybe do a whole vine that grows from one board into the next, and each board has a flower, maybe do a typographic set of words, that in total create the image that words represent, maybe do a set of colors, each one blends or creates contrast with the next, maybe do a sudoku with colors in checker board so there are 9 colors but align like numbers maybe do a black & white design, and one color on each board, that represents something personal, maybe do a different grid, circles or triangles, and create a mosaic mix of time sequences, maybe do a floor or ceiling design on walls to turn room on side or end, maybe do a set of hair styles from top to bottom, or giant makeup-kit, hundreds of nail polished designs, have fun mostly, :) ..
I see someone with a special tool to cut the keel, but do not know what is the name, it is difficult to find online, I would like to ask you know? Description: shape similar to the guillotine, put the keel, a force will be a light steel keel cut off.
In the light steel keel production line called flying shear. Look at your private letter or my information.
we had a company install this for us 2 days ago they said it would settle but it still has some falling into rooms. dont know if we made a mistake by blowing it and not just rolling it. someone help please
If this is a grid ceiling with tiles that just push up. Blown was not a good idea. Plus even though this blown insulation is rather light weight - over time it will cause your ceiling tiles to sag. What is happening is your room is so air tight that when you shut the door you are creating enough air pressure that one or more of the ceiling tiles is pushing up just enough to allow some of the insulation to fall out of the ceiling around this tile. Try shutting the door slowly or cracking a window just a bit to ease the air pressure when you close your door.
What is the average cost per sq ft to install a drop ceiling?
When you ask about $/sq ft are you talking about an installed price by a contractor or the material cost of doing it yourself? Do you intend to attach to the existing ceiling to smooth it out or are you going to re-frame the ceiling altogether? Depending on the size of the room if you are using 2x4 and Sheetrock and not doing anything strange, material costs could be as low as $3/sq ft. this assumes a relatively small room. If you are just trying to smooth out the ceiling, and use Hat channel and Sheetrock the price would be a little less.
I need to attach track lighting in an office with acoustical tiles. Can I screw the track directly into the metal tracks of the suspended ceiling? (running power is not a problem to the track, but the tiles have to stay)
No! You need to install 'T' bar clips to the T bars. Your track will attach (snap onto) the clips. Depending on the brand of track lighting you are using, the clips may be available at your local (big box) hardware store. Screwing straight to the T bars is asking for a short.

does anyone know what those things are installed in commercial open-ceilings.. they are like foam materials used as insulation? I need the exact name and need to find a ceiling contractor asap, thanks !!
I think you are reffering to what is called a drop ceiling or sometimes a grid ceiling. If that is the case the panels are made from mostly fiberglass now and some older ones are made of fiberglass and wood fibers ( cellulose ) .home depot can find a good installer at a reasonable price in your area. IF you are near northeast ct I know of several contractors that do that type of work IM me for more info
I am planning my basement remodel and love the idea of a tongue and groove look for the ceiling. Is it possible to use painted wall panels screwed into the ceiling beams? That way the mechanics of the house can still be accessed but I don't have an ugly drop ceiling.
Yes. But use screws so the sheets remain above the head. They look great.
