Q:I'm building a solar panel for the first time and have the tabbed solar cells. I put together 4 strings of 9 cells. And the cells are each 0.55V, 3.6A.Because I'm going to be using the panel indoors and leaning it up against a window pane, I put them in a 24x36 inch poster-size frame. The frame has a plexiglass cover and a thick cardboard backing. My question to you is this. Will the cardboard backing up against the metal underside (positive side) of the solar cells be ok? I don't know if it may catch fire or if holes may burn through when there's full sun.My guess here is it should be ok. But maybe I'm wrong. If I am wrong, or if something should be put in between, please let me know what I should use. Thanks everyone!

Q:The battery is 9ah and the solar panel is 20w
You need a switch mode voltage converter, made to input 2 to 20 volts, and output around 7 volts. Some cell phone chargers can do that, or be modified for that voltage. Option B is to get another battery and use the system at 2V, and regulate that to 6 or 5 volts for charging (you can directly use your car charger), with switch mode regulators. I would find that system to be more flexible. Getting an 8Ah would leave extra capacity. BTW, for a 9AH battery, 20W is kid of big. I have a 36Ah battery and a 20W panel, and that is good for it.
Q:im trying to run my house with with solar panels, is it possible? if so please let me know how....i have a 6000 w inverter
In my opinion you can do it. You will need to have solar panels. and batteries to store the power until needed.
Q:Are there any fire risks associated with solar panels?
Yes, there are fire risks associated with solar panels, although they are relatively rare. The main risk factors include faulty installation, damaged wiring, and electrical malfunctions. However, adherence to proper installation standards, regular maintenance, and the use of high-quality equipment significantly mitigate these risks.
Q:Any recommendation for best solar panels?
If you are looking for the best solar panels, you should know that there are a variety of top manufacturers such as SunPower who make these panels. When shopping for solar panels there are a variety of choices you will need to make including what kind of panels you prefer. There are two main types of solar panels, traditional PV panels and thin film panels. GE solar panels are an ideal choice for residential, commercial or even industrial customers who want to harness the power of the sun. Hope the recommendation is good.
Q:how much energy does solar panels save you? (like a month, year, etc)
It depends on the size of the solar panels and the intensity of the solar-light. So, there's difference in every place. It's impossible to answer unless there's detail of panel size, panel quantities, average rainfall, average solar days, etc.
Q:How much space is needed to install solar panels?
The amount of space required to install solar panels depends on various factors such as the type of solar panels, their efficiency, and the energy needs of the property. Generally, a typical rooftop solar panel system requires about 100-400 square feet of space for every kilowatt (kW) of solar panels. Additionally, open areas or ground-mounted systems may require more substantial space. It is recommended to consult with a solar installation professional who can assess the specific requirements based on the location and energy goals.
Q:How do solar panels affect the property's community image?
Solar panels can have a positive impact on a property's community image by showcasing a commitment to sustainability and renewable energy. They demonstrate that the property owner is environmentally conscious and proactive in reducing their carbon footprint. This can enhance the property's reputation, attract environmentally conscious residents or customers, and potentially inspire others in the community to consider adopting solar energy as well.
Q:if I have a battery bank of of 6 L-6 Trojan batteries, 6V 390AH, wired in series parallel to give me 2V at 70AH (or 4,040WH) what kind of solar panels should I purchase assuming I have 8 hours of sunlight, a solar tracking system and I want to make sure I can fully recharge my batteries everyday if i use up all the power every night?i understand there are efficiency issues to consider which i have not calculated in yet. thanks.
If okorder /... yet, it's worth browsing the off-grid section. 8 peak equivalent sun hours a day on average is very achievable with tracking, but are you sure you really want to spend on tracking? It's a lot of trouble and expense - might be cheaper just to get more panels. Also be aware that when you have a lead-acid battery bank capable of (say) 000 Ah, that is the capacity that the batteries could supply as a one-shot deal. If you ever took that much from them, they would be ruined. Typically, you would try to take only 20% of the capacity before recharging, although some batteries let you take 50%, with reduced life. Have you considered wiring the batteries as 36 volts? There would be more efficiency, and less problems with equalizing the batteries when charging. Unless 2 volts is really the output that you need most. Sorry to redirect you, but I can't recommend that forum too highly. Lots of considerations.
Q:How much would it cost (approximately) to convert my home (3 bed. 2 bath) to a green home that is run entirely upon solar panels on my roof? From the panels through installation does anyone know a price break down?
Running an entire home on solar panels is not possible, I think. I have 24 panels (almost the whole south facing surface of my roof) and it's almost sufficient for electricity, but not for hot water and heating, that would require more than my roof could accommodate.
