PORTLAND CEMENT

Portland cement is the most common type of cement in general use around the world, used as a basic ingredient of concrete, mortar, stucco, and most non-specialty grout.

It is a fine powder produced by heating materials in a kiln to form what is called clinker, grinding the clinker, and adding small amounts of other materials.

Several types of Portland cement are available with the most common being called ordinary Portland cement (OPC) which is grey in color, but a white Portland cement is also available.

Application

CNBM Cement can be used for all types of architectural or structural concrete construction. Such application as pre-cast panels and systems, cast-in-place, masonry units, tilt-up panel systems, roofing tiles, terrazzo floors, highway median barriers, tile grout, swimming pools, stucco, culture stone, colored masonry products, cement paints and coatings, and ornamental precast concrete items.

Q:For my graphics class**Do I simply apply an even coat to one of the pieces I want to glue, wait for it to dry, then apply it?I've been looking for videos. I don't want to mess this up. Also, how do I use this particular tool to smoothen the paper?
When I've used rubber cement, I've applied a coat to both surfaces to be glued, let it dry until tacky ( when it no longer looks shiny and is slightly sticky to the touch) and then put them together. Putting them together is the tricky part: the rubber cement sticks right away, and it's hard to re-place whatever you're trying to glue, so you have to place the pieces correctly on the first try. I've never used a tool like that to smooth paper (correction: I've never smoothed paper, but when I've used a tool like that I've used it to make neat folds). I would guess the unpointed end, but past that I have no idea. Sorry. If you use the rubber cement properly you can just smooth the paper with your fingers as you glue it down, and you shouldn't need to use a tool at all. Good luck!
Q:Someone I hired to do my walkway used cement to rentrain the pavers edge, instead of edge restrainters. I found it very strange. I even pointed it out to him. He said it ok. Who am i do defy an experient brazilian mason. The cement is now cracking. My brand new walkway will not make thru the winter. I have already started my complain process.
Actually, you mean concrete, not cement. Should be fine, it's done all the time. What are the dimensions? He may have mixed the concrete improperly (wrong ratio or too wet). We need more info. about the whole installation-soil, slope, drainage, radius if it's curved, etc.. A photo would be really helpful.
Q:how many cubic feet does 1 bag of cement make?? its a 80 lb bag...In your thoughts or in your experience.....thanks!!
The actual cement required for concrete is affected by the choice of the maximum coarse aggregate size. As the maximum coarse aggregate size is decreased the cement content must increase to provide the required quantity of cement paste to coat all of the aggregate particles. Assume that the proportions will be made based on one part being a cubic foot (this is convenient since a 94 lb. bag of cement is 1 cubic foot of bulk material). For a 3/4 maximum coarse aggregate, the mixture would be 1 part portland cement, 2 1/2 parts sand, 2 1/2 parts coarse aggregate, and 1/2 part water. The sum of the parts is 6 ?. In general the final volume of concrete produced will be approximately 2/3 of the sum of all the volumes included in the mixture. Therefore the approximate volume of this concrete mixture is 4.3 cubic feet. If you adjust the above mixture based on a 80 lb. bag of cement, then you will produce 3.7 cu. ft. per bag approximately. If you are talking about an 80 lb. bag of ready mix (sand garvel are already mixed in the bag), then it would be 0.60 cu.ft. per bag.
Q:For Chemistry homework.Thank you :)
Cement should be tested for its following properties: 1. Fineness Fineness, or particle size of portland cement affects rate of hydration, which is responsible for the rate of strength gain. The smaller the particle size, the greater the s
Q:What's best to use for scrapbooking/card-making, glue stick or rubber cement?
stick, much easier to control and less messy than the cement. and if in the future you want to move something it is much easier to remove and the stain it leaves is minimal
Q:I want to do this trick, but it involves putting rubber cement on your skin. I'm not sure that it is safe. I'm thinking of buying Elmer's rubber cement if it is safe. Also, if it is safe, will it stick? And how do you get it off? Thanks!

Q:My driveway is a gravel hill and there is a large drop off about 15-20ft wide, pretty much takes up the whole drive way, and its just where the cement stops and drops off kinda. Well my plan is to fill up under the drop off and just smooth it out a bit. I would like to use something that cars can drive over, but more importantly some thing that will dry within a couple of hours. There are about 10 or 15 houses that use the same drive way and I plan to do my work at night, as not to disrupt people and be in their way. Thanks!!
Try adding the cement to 1/2 the driveway at a time, allowing 3 days cure time. This will allow access throughout the process with only minor inconvenience.
Q:My question is based on Science article about ship worms. According to article ship worms are in clam family.
ship worms do not digest the wood. If I remember correctly, they bore into it with their shell. They do not eat it.
Q:Hey guys, I'm getting a pallet expander tomorrow. I was talking to my friends who have had one in the past and they said they were able to take theirs out. Unfortunately i can not. I was just wondering why could they take theirs out and i cant? The ortho said that mine will be cemented. I only have just a little cross bit with one tooth out of line. Can anyone tell me? Thanks a lot :)
The ones that can be taken out are expanders, they make your mouth bigger, the cemented ones are retaining. That is what my sister explained to me.
Q:For project
If the joint is in an area that cannot be seen, I would change it out with a couplings and a piece of pipe. It is no longer code to use a combination glue that was manufactured for both PVC and CPVC. This should tell you that PVC glue on CPVC will probably not hold.
