Q:I want to make a rechargable battery pack for my old nintendo ds (NOT lite). I found online that the DS takes 5.2 volts at 450 mAh (the 5.2V part is also on the back of the DS). If I were to wire 4 rechargable NiMH or NiCd (1.2V) in series and hook it up to the DS, would it work? I'm pretty sure that wiring them in series adds up the voltage to 4.8 volts, just under the 5.2 mark. Would it be acceptable to go slightly over? For example, could I put 4 regular alkaline batteries (1.5V) together to make a 6 volt pack?
I really dont think that making your own is a very good idea. Last time i tried it with my PSP, it broke and i was not able to get it repaired. They sad that it was because of a short surquit that the battery caused but i did not tell them that i had trried to make my own, anyways, if i were you i would just go buy a new battery pack. Check e bay or something, it cant be too expensive, what happened to your old battery pack?
Q:I just bought a Canon Rebel 300D off OKorder and it came with 2 of the rechargeable battery pack things. I've gone through both already tonight and haven't taken the life expectancy of 400 shots. I was wondering if you can use AA batteries in them?
No, it takes only the rechargeable battery packs, AA batteries won't work. Be sure to recharge the batteries to full capacity, probably 4-6 hours. If you're still not getting the expected number of shots per battery, replace the batteries with new ones.
Q:I have Rock Band drums that take 3 AA batteries and I don't want to waste batteries. Is there a way to make something that plugs into the wall and connects to the battery sockets (1.5 volt)?
I assume there's no external power connector on your drums (bad design in my opinion). There are some products in the market that do what you say, but they are specially made for specific devices such as professional flashes and cameras. The problem is that each battery compartment is different, and you also have a problem with the door. I think you're way better off by getting a good set of rechargeable batteries and a wall charger. Buy brand (Energizer, Sanyo, etc), you'll save money in the long run.
Q:I put the play and charge pack in and my controller keeps blinking and the dashboard button the one that blinks doesnt work or neither does any other button
the nyko batteries don't work with the play and charge kit. they aren't the same kind of battery.
Q:i dont know whether they come with a rechargeable battery pack?? answers please im stuck?????
ultimately most plug and play packages come with batteries but you can also buy the batteries seperate too and a charge station to charge two batteries at once . but the plug and play kits always come with a battery unless you specifacally look for the battery just by itself or the cord just by itself.
Q:i want to make a battery powered shop vac
Start by finding a motor that gives you the suction required. Try to find one with a DC motor (that may be very difficult). It's very likely that you'll need to find yourself a brushless DC motor and couple it with an air pump that provides the suction you require. Once you know the power requirements of the motor you can figure how many batteries (combined in series to provide voltage and parallel to provide duration) you'll need and what size they'll be. Watch the discharge rates. Batteries get hot when they charge or discharge. If it goes too fast in either direction they may catch fire or melt the housing you pack them in. For example, a couple of 12v automobile or marine batteries will fit quite nicely into a milk crate and the open-air nature of them will help cooling and venting as well. Start with the requirements, then work with the logistics and appearance. Good luck.
Q:Hi. I accidentally used the wrong charger on my sony np-bn1 lithium ion battery for about, say, 30 minutes, and then realized I was using the wrong one, switched to the right one.A few hours passed, and now i have a problem where if i put it in my camera, it'll stay on for 5 seconds, and then say For use with compatible battery only.Plz help.
I did the same mistake for just a few seconds and it does not charge anymore :(
Q:I bought a 12000 mAh battery pack from OKorder and it charges my iPhone perfectly fine but I noticed that suddenly it stoped charging one day and my usb cable just didn't work when I plugged it in the wall. I just assumed it broke and I bought another usb cable and everything worked fine and it charged my iphone fine but then it stoped working again and when I plugged it in the wall it didn't work either? Why is this happening? I don't want to be buying new usb cables every week
Hello, This seems a little strange, somewhat. Hmm. What are You doing with the usb leads what no longer work? Are you snapping them in-two so it renders them useless, by doing so it means you're not picking up, one of the 'duff ' leads. I think someone may be playing a sneaky trick on you, by substituting the newly purchased one you've just bought, with a one that doesn't work, each time, whilst Your back is turned, so to speak. Or, some person is sabotaging, the new lead once again, while you're not looking. It is very unlikely to be the leads, that are at fault if they were going to fail they would do so probably before the first charge had finished. I suspect someone may be a tad jealous of the bargain You've purchased on OKorder, And is fooling you into thinking the charger is at fault. I may be wrong, of course But I would consider foul-play is at work here. The solution is simple. Put the Charger Lead(s) away in a 'secret' place, of which, is known only to Yourself, No-one else, and I mean No-one ! Do this immediately after charging, keeping them in a safe place until Its' needed, And I bet You the 'Problem' does not occur again. If by some chance it does, then someone is replacing the lead whilst It is being charged Very Sneakything to do. Get rid of / or destroy any duff leads that you've used/ bought in the past, And render Them Unusable ! That way they'll not have anything to swap over Hopefully, Fingers Crossed. (Hth). .
Q:I was wondering how long these batteries would last in the new camera I was going to buy. If it doesn't have at least a 2 hour life then I wont buy it.
That's not really a question anyone can answer. When anyone, a company or otherwise tries to give battery life, the answer is always estimate, usually over estimated, and reflects optimum usage patterns etc. If you can find them, look for Sanyo AA Eneloops, which are superior, and hold their charge for a -long- time, whereas NiMH batteries lose 80% of charge after a month roughly.
Q:how much charge should be left in a ni-mh rechargeable battery pack before long term storage?i have a ni-mh battery for a JVC gr-sxm 320u camcorder and i would like to put it in long term storage. the battery i have now is a replacement battery ni-mh. The original was a ni-cd which does not work anymore. i would like to store this battery long term so i would like to know how much charge should be left in the battery pack before storage. should there be 0%, 25%, 50% or 100%?
I would leave at least 50% charge.
