Hydraulic excavator capabilities have expanded far beyond excavation tasks with buckets. With the advent of hydraulic-powered attachments such as a breaker, a grapple or an auger, the excavator is frequently used in many applications other than excavation. Many excavators feature a quick coupler for simplified attachment mounting, increasing the machine's utilization on the jobsite. Excavators are usually employed together with loaders and bulldozers. Most wheeled, compact and some medium-sized (11 to 18-tonne) excavators have a backfill (or dozer) blade. This is a horizontal bulldozer-like blade attached to the undercarriage and is used for levelling and pushing removed material back into a hole.

- Q:y does my electric yellow always dig massive holes? i recently switched to a planted tank with fine graval and now he diges holes and its very annoying. is there any way to get him to stop and maby take his mind off of it. its amazing how much rock he can move overnight. hes like a excavator lol.
- Like other have stated the digging is do to spawning. To get them to stop you need to use larger gravel. If you want them to spawn it is best to use arganite or sand instead. But to get them to stop you need to use pea gravel wish is about 3/8 - 1/2 inch in size. You can have a planted tank but you need plants with well established root systems. PK

- Q:I have a 6T 590 cummins in a case 888 excavator, it runs good but the fuel is in the oil. I changed the lift pump but the fuel is still in the oil. What should I do???? Is there a seal in the injection pump that can be changed without having the injection pump rebuilt?
- Yes the shaft seal in the injection pump can be changed without rebuilding the pump, actually pretty common, not a job you want to do yourself if you don't have the knowledge though, in some cases it takes a special tool to align and compress the seal upon installation, and if you get in there and remove the pump without a clue and get it out of time you have basically shot yourself in the foot
- Q:I want to make a desert looking tank for my leo but I've heard of impaction and I don't want that to happen. Is there a sand that wont hurt the gecko? Also I feed mealworms on a dish so does that lessen the risk of him eating some sand when he goes to eat?
- I agree with excavator clay! It's great! You can also try calci sand with slate tiles over it.

- It depends, parts change yearly. So if you want to wait, then by all means wait. I would update your graphics card though, you don't need that much power for a graphics card of that caliber.

- The last mercury mine in the US, McDermitt Mine in Nevada closed in 1991. It was an open cut mine using trucks and an excavator to mine a vein of quartz that contained the mercury mineral cinnabar. - mercury sulfide. Cinnabar is a red mineral, usually earthy in appearance but can form red crystals. The USGS reports that red cinnabar can still be seen in rocks in the waste pile at the mine. Cinnabar is the most common mineral for primary mercury production. Underground mines in China also mine cinnabar. The process used at McDermitt was to roast the ore in a stream of air. The cinnabar reacted with oxygen to produce sulfur dioxide and mercury vapor. The mercury vapor was condensed from the air stream. Mercury is produced as a by product of electrowinning of copper. The mercury collects together with other metals as a sludge at the bottom of the electrowinning tanks. One of the biggest produces of by-product mercury is the Yanacocha Gold Mine in Peru. Mercury occurs along with the gold. Yannacocha is a large surface mine using electric shovels and trucks. The process at Yanacocha is to treat the ore with cyanide solution, which dissolves both the gold and the mercury. Both gold and mercury are precipitated on carbon , from where there are again redissolved with cyanide and then precipitated with zinc powder. The loaded zinc is the smelted to recover the gold and mercury. The mercury is vaporised in the smelter and recovered by the pollution control equipment. The price of mercury has been hovering around $600 for a 76 lb flask. Use of mercury is declining and is down to about 2000 tons per year. Much of this is provided by recycling. The use of florescent lights for energy saving may increase consumption. Mercury is very hazardous. The links give more information.

- Q:Please only answer if you have knowledge of this subject. I know it hauls more than a ton so don't just say 1 ton drrrr. I am pretty sure we have been hauling around 5 tons on it. I want to see what someone that really knows about this subject says like a landscaper or excavator. My backhoe (Case 780CK ) front bucket hold 2 yards of dirt which is about equal to 2.5 tons of dirt. 1 Yard weighs about 2400 pounds. We put 2 buckets at a time on the dump truck.
- Your truck has two ratings (that you can find in the manual or on the company website - Google the model and information for older trucks) one is payload, the other is the gross vehicle weight rating. They are based on the equipment level on that SPECIFIC truck. The optional equipment can make that differ by well over a thousand pounds. So without that specific information it is impossible to give an answer that is anywhere near accurate.
