FAQ

We have about 25ft high ceiling with 4 HVAC units on the ceiling at our facility. And we have decided to install the ceiling 14ft high drop ceiling to save energy. The contractor extended the air outflow vents from existing units using duct which is about 15ft long. But didn’t connected intake vent from to the new ceiling level to the intake grid on the HVAC unit. He state that free-flow air will go through the existing intake grid on the unit. But I am concerned that the hot air above new drop ceiling will go through the intake grille in summer. Then the HVAC is not going to efficiently be able to generate cool air outflow.
the returns need to be installed like your supply in the space to be conditioned and you need insulation on top of drop down ceiling other wize your waisting your time and money it will suck hot air and work harder thus your not getting anywere
Is there any requirements regarding hard wired smoke detectors on a suspended ceiling?I know luminaires are supposed to be properly secured to the grid, do smoke and CO detectors need to be? If so how?Right now, all I have is some old work boxes for the splices.I'm looking for a correct answer, I'm not going to cut corners.NEC code references are a plus.
Not sure what they are called but they make a bar that goes from grid to grid with a clip on each end that you can mount a 4square box to in a drop ceiling call your local elec supply Store they will know
Light steel keel ceiling 600 * 600 What does it mean?
Meaning that the panel size is 600MM * 600mm
I am finishing my basement and want to install a drop/suspended ceiling instead of drywalling it. I want the ceiling to be as high as possible but have a bunch of large ducts in the middle of the room. Do I just build a bulk head around the duct work and then put tiles around it or are there a bar system that will do that for me? I just don't want my whole ceiling at the height of the duct work.

I'm doing a reno in my basement and want to put crown molding up but can't imagine it looking good. Any suggestions?
Cool new item I tried and love it. Placed crown molding about two inches from ceiling all the way around room. Placed rope lights inside so that it gives a slight glow to the corner but bulbs themselves are not seen. Note before installation I ran a 110 outlet straight up the wall from the light switch (wires inside of wall), tied it into the switch so I can turn them on and off. The outlet is hidden behind the molding as well. Unique, Cool and all my relatives want me to do the same in their houses.
Hello guys all resources you can give me on this one would be so helpful as I dont know where to start. I am considering taking what they call a vanilla shell that is inside an already established strip mall and make it work for our small company. The realtor said The available has a ceiling grid, sheetrock walls, lighting, restrooms, concrete floor, mop sink, and air conditioning. You will need to add wall and floor covering, hotwater heater, and any rooms, cabinetry, etc. if required. It is basically like a long empty rectangle. Does anyone have an idea of how much I could expect to pay for this if I just want to set the place up for basic retail spot? Thank you
You should be able to negotiate with them and have them handle up to $3000 of build out costs depending on the length of your lease...most malls/retail outlets will negotiate a few thousand of build out costs or no percentage rent...
