PORTLAND CEMENT

Portland cement is the most common type of cement in general use around the world, used as a basic ingredient of concrete, mortar, stucco, and most non-specialty grout.

It is a fine powder produced by heating materials in a kiln to form what is called clinker, grinding the clinker, and adding small amounts of other materials.

Several types of Portland cement are available with the most common being called ordinary Portland cement (OPC) which is grey in color, but a white Portland cement is also available.

Application

CNBM Cement can be used for all types of architectural or structural concrete construction. Such application as pre-cast panels and systems, cast-in-place, masonry units, tilt-up panel systems, roofing tiles, terrazzo floors, highway median barriers, tile grout, swimming pools, stucco, culture stone, colored masonry products, cement paints and coatings, and ornamental precast concrete items.

Q:We are a mechanical and electrical materials limited company, the general taxpayer. Now want to increase the operation of cement, is to fill in the application of cement or building materials? If it is a filler material is not it will include a lot? Do you need a prerequisite approval for cement? What are the specific steps? More
If you want to operate the cement, directly to the local industrial and commercial departments to change the registration on it, that is, in the scope of business to add a cement enamel to wear the cost of ferry to kill sales. No pre-approval is required.
Q:I cant figure out what consistency to mix this cement at. I am pouring it for a shower but need to know how much water to add. I would REALLY like an exact calculation, like 20 parts cement to 1 part water for example. Anybody know? Thank you! Again, this is for a shower......
4:1 ratio is the mix I ve used for over 20 years .. I use 5 gallon buckets and mix in a big tub for this purpose. I also use Type I Portland Cement. The water is about a 1/4 bucket but this varies with how wet/dry the sand is.. You ll want to mix up the sand / cement and then add water. You DON T want it watery and soupy at all.. To much or a wet mix will cause to much shrinkage in this type of use.. You want it wet enough to pack a snowball w/o any water coming out. Then you pack it down and screed it off level and to get your pre set pitch.. Any other questions e mail me thru my avatar, check my qualifications and I ll have help and suggestions.. Add the shower base size and I ll give you quantities needed.. GL
Q:Did anyone die in cement at hover dam?
Why would you want to know that girl. Hush yo mouth!
Q:does anyone have any experience in that? does it reduce the noise a lot or just a bit? and about the ceiling... my neighbors throw and drag things on the floor (they're mental cases, fruitcakes). i can't afford to move right now because the house is bought so i'd have to sell and buy another house. can't do that right now. and it always costs money.to what extent will the cement on the ceiling reduce the noise?what kind of windows are the best?thank you all...
Sound proofing has to do with mass, density and a few other factors. Robin is both right and wrong. Glass is extremely dense and heavy. If you replace glass with light weight plastic in the same configuration it won't protect anywhere near as much. The more panes of glass you have with distance in between them, the more sound proof it gets. Restaurants often put two windows in a row for silencing noise. For the wall add more drywall. Double the mass of the wall or cieling and it will absorb another 5 to 10 decibels of protection. If you can afford 1 to 2 dollars a square foot, then use a viscoelastic damped product such as Quietrock drywall, Supress drywall, or soundbreak drywall or buy viscoelastic damping glues such as QuietGlue, Green Glue, or Decibel Drop. Viscoelastic polymers convert vibration into heat. They are used in electronics as an alternative to protect against vibration, in building material to provide sound damping, sometimes in earthquake protection to reduce the vibrations that the building has to put up with, and in high end cars to reduce frame vibration. I just named some common products for building materials. Specialty drywall warehouses will be familiar with some of these products. Lumber yards and common stores won't have a clue.
Q:ok im thinking of remodeling and there is a hideous cement floor, i want a carpet...How do i do it? thank you
underlay grippers and carpet
Q:The front steps of our house were painted with a gray cement paint. I've tried all the chemical I've seen at Home Depot and nothing has worked. Any suggestions?
try using a acid but leave it on to long and wear gloves thats how i got paint off our garage cement
Q:could you please tell me a precise price for a square meter of cement.
Do you mean concrete ? Concrete is a mix of sand, gravel, portland cement and water. A lot of people informally refer to this mixture as cement. It is what is used to build blocks, walls and floors. If this is what you mean and you want it delivered in a mixer truck you should look in the yellow pages under concrete. The price varies a lot with locality. Also your second, third, fourth and subsequent cubic yards decline in price, (quite sharply at first) because the time and fuel needed for delivery are pretty much the same no matter how much you order. I imagine (and am sorry) this answer is not quite what you were looking for. Jeff
Q:I am putting in a small 12'x60' mobile home on the new property I just bought, to use as an office for my farm. Would I need to put a cement pad in for the home to sit on? Would it need to be the complete size of the mobile home i.e 12x60 or could I use smaller pads just where the wheels are going to sit?
Cement Pad
Q:I have a very ugly cement backyard area, were the homeowners before me thought it was cool to put orange, red and yellow tennise court paint down and now thats chipping away it is really ugly. So can I just lay stone tile down to make it look better or what can I do. The cement is probly 25 years old no cracks that I can see their is one corner that is lower then the rest mybe from settling maybe from a lazy DIY'er.
If you are laying tile using a cement or tile adhesive then you should be okay once you clean off the paint. Some larger tiles (like saltillo tiles) will require some expertize to get them properly laid. If you want stone or concrete pavers, then the previous answer is correct. You will need to completely rip up with old concrete and then use sand and a compactor to prep the surface.
Q:what is the volume of 1 bag of cement?
