PORTLAND CEMENT
Portland cement is the most common type of cement in general use around the world, used as a basic ingredient of concrete, mortar, stucco, and most non-specialty grout.

- Q:What is the method of removing the cement on the tiles?
- First, do not use hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, oxalic acid, nitric acid, will seriously corrode the brick surface
- Q:My rabbit just recently had a very large amont of ticks on him. We later found out it ws because he escaped under some pine trees, but now im afraid to let him go outside at all. I don't feel like he could get ticks from our yard because he only had them once before and that was when we found him. Is there any way he can pick up ticks from being on cement?
- Animals can pick up ticks wherever the ticks are at. A tick commonly will stay on an animal until they have fully gorged, and then fall off. That is why they can be most anywhere, it is a matter of where they fell off at. They really do prefer under pines, but can be found most anywhere since they are able to move on their own. For your rabbit, ask a vet about frontline or advantage treatment to keep him tick free. Good luck.
- Q:I want use cement board 1/2quot; under my toilet and then use carpet to put over that. Is that a good idea? What are my options?
- Yes cement board is the only thing i would be using in a wet area such as toilet, laundry or bathroom as if there are any leaks or overflows the floor will not rot. Not to sure about using carpet in toilet i would probably suggest vinyl or tiles.
- Q:I'm doing this for the 1st time so can you tell me how to do it? What should I buy aside from that bag of cement? I'm gonna cement my ceiling, only the edges of the plywood because my family is breaking in to my room and damaging all of my things and they pass thru the ceiling, and I researched the price of plywood and it's quite expensive. I intended to just cover up my ceiling with a new set of plywood but I learned that doing so would be quite expensive and out of my budget. So I'm gonna cement my ceiling bit by bit instead because the hardware sellers discourage me to do it, so they can't refer me to a carpenter. Can you give me ideas how to make that cement stick to the plywood? What tools should I use? Moving out is not an option so I'm really stuck with this plan.

- Q:This pipe is located almost underground. Due to the blockage the water from the terrace instead flowing to the underground main pipe flows out at the first floor opening in the balcony. The pipe is a direct pipe from the terrace to the ground with a break at the balcony, but due to the blockage at the end overflowed water fills the balcony. Hence it starts entering the rooms at the first floor. Our house is made of bricks and cement, it is situated in Pakistan. Problems of overflowing increase durng the rain( Monsoon) season.
- Find something you can push along the inside of the pipe to break up the blockage - maybe stiff fence-wire, or something similar. Try to introduce this as close as possible, but upstream, of the blockage (which might mean opening the joint at the balcony, for instance). Work it backwards and forwards until the blockage is broken up and washed away.

- Not much you can do now. Get the contractor out and get them to re-do it. Tell them it's uneven and you are unhappy with their work.
- Q:We have very ugly cement floor for our outside space and want to change it up! We do not want to pour a whole new set of concrete however and we were wondering if we could use something to stick on top of our old concrete! :) We've heard mortar works...but we need direction plz help!!!!
- I really think you'll have to start all over again. Put river rock down and pour cement over rock and clean rocks quickly before cement drys. Have you thought about large tiles?
