Q:What does "200" in Komatsu 200 mean?
The quality of the vehicle itself is 20 tons
Q:I was thinking about digging a couple pretty simple hole in the backyard for compost and dumping grass in. The only problem is that I am thirteen and my Dad doesnt' want to do do the digging. I've had past experience doing stuff with backhoes and even those big excavators. Could my Dad legally rent one and have me do the digging, or do I need to teach him how to drive it? :)
Once on private property, I'm sure you could operate it. Since your Dad is renting it, it will be his responsibility.
Q:I use excavator for my leo's enclosure but it's kind of expensive so I would like an alternative. Any ideas? Thanks(:
If you want a clay substitute I don't think there's another kind that is sold specially for reptiles but look up what kind of clay is safe to use for leopard geckos.
Q:Can you dig down straight always in the same diameter? I mean if you dig down in 10x10, will you end digging in 10x10?Only theoretically. Only serious answers.
Do you mean a rectangular, 10 x 10 hole? If so: No... at least not very deep. The excavation wall in most earth materials loses structural stability, and so excavation below some practical depth must be sloped to prevent failure. Even in a very competent rock, you cannot go very deep... I'm also neglecting the practicalities of the usual excavation equipment, like a backhoe or excavator, which are limited by the mechanical-arm length and geometry. I guess if you wanted to dig a 10 x 10 hole by HAND (or jackhammer or something), and you progressively reinforced the excavation walls above you as you went, then yes, I suppose you could go pretty deep. OSHA might have something to say about it, but I'm being theoretical as you asked, or semi-theoretical. Now, if you are DRILLING, so that your circular boring is 10 units (inches, feet, whatever) in diameter, then your hole stays more or less the same diameter, although there is wallow-out at the top, and maybe some small percentage of variability throughout- depending on the competence of the earth-material. Even then, you would case a deep boring to prevent wall-failure when you withdraw the augers. What you case it with depends upon your purpose- steel, PVC, cast in-place concrete, whatever. There are also cool boring machines that can drill lovely, round holes of consistent diameter through rock. There's probably plenty of other tech that I'm not experienced or familiar with with, too.
Q:Does it take longer and more difficult to dig a foundation than to put up floors of a building. How about cost
Interesting question. Digging the hole for the foundation is much faster than putting up the floors. Using a house as an example, the excavator usually can dig the hole in a few hours. Then, one day to pour the footings for the foundation, another day to form and pour the walls (if using that type of foundation). If using block wall foundation, figure a few days. Now comes the framing. Depending on the size of the house, it will take anywhere from 1-3 days to frame in the first floor deck. Figure another 2-7 days to frame the first floor walls, depending on the crew size and complexity of the plan. Repeat for any additional floors and then roof. There is no way to give you a cost. You have not given any information, such as size and type of building, location, construction materials, etc. Hope this helps.
Q:Hi. I am getting a few baby bearded dragons in a couple months. I was wondering what size terrarium I should put them in. I am getting 1 male and 2 females. I was also wondering if I should put some burrows in with some burrow maker thing I got. I have 10 pounds of it and it is made of clay. Also, will they get along with Leopard geckos? I really want to put in a pair of leopard geckos, and will they like the burrows too? I want both the bearded dragons and the geckos to breed and I will make 2 rooms in each burrow for them. I am also adding a heating pad to help incubate the eggs and to keep the reptiles warm. And a heating rock or two is going to be placed in there. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hello, First of all I would not recommend putting dragons in with geckos. Also if the beardies are babies you would probably do better to start them out on the retile carpet not clay. It is available at most pet stores. Another thing is to make sure you have the proper lighting for beardies and never use heat rocks as they can burn your reptile. I would suggest you do some research on the web and read all you can about bearded dragons and geckos for that matter, before making your purchase. In order to house 2 female adult bearded dragons you would need at least a 40 gallon tank. Check out the website georgia bearded dragons they have some good info on their site for newbies. Good luck in your endeavors.
