Q:I need large plastic sheets, about 7 feet high and 4 feet wide. Thin ones, like plastic grocery bag thin. I have no idea where to buy them though.
The Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Lowes OshKosh etc.
Q:Can plastic sheets be used for protective screens in electronic devices?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used as protective screens in electronic devices. They are commonly used due to their affordability, durability, and ability to provide a barrier against scratches, dust, and minor impacts. However, for more advanced protection such as shatter resistance or enhanced touch sensitivity, tempered glass or other specialized materials may be preferred.
Q:ex. 10 ml black plastic
Water shorts all electricity. A fine mist sprayed on the plastic will short out the static.
Q:How are plastic sheets made?
Plastic sheets are typically made through a process called extrusion, where melted plastic is forced through a die to form a continuous sheet. The plastic pellets are first melted and then fed into a heated barrel, where they are forced through a rotating screw. The molten plastic is then pushed through a flat die, which determines the thickness and width of the sheet. As the plastic exits the die, it is cooled and solidified using either air, water, or a combination of both. The resulting plastic sheet can be cut and shaped according to specific requirements.
Q:Basically what are the pros and cons of plastic covering the ground in a effort to keep in warms, moister and produce a vegetable crops sooner in the ground, and bigger. Please don't say google people over there tend to get long winded, rabble on, and get off subject sometimes. Thank you in advance!!
It is used widely in farming and horticulture so I would say it probably works otherwise they wouldn't be bothered to do it.
Q:I am making paintings (fine art) that can be painted and lifted like large decals. I have used 6 mil shipping plastic, This works great, but is hell to format and non-permanent. I need to identify and locate a more stable substitute. (Clear plastic sheeting; large solid sheets that watersoluble paint will peel off of.)I would think the same thing tupperware is made of (polypropylene), but cannot find it in flat clear sheets. Does anyone know what the clear painters pallettes are made of (melamine?) and if it is sold in sheets to the public? I have been trying to put a finger on this for over 2 years--any help or leads out there?thanx
Glass is good. Prepare the surface with a undiluted liquid soap wash and let that dry. Across that you do a quick layer of medium or any color you want. Quick is the key as you don't want to mix it with the soap to much. Let it all dry and do your thing. It isn't the read-made solution you were looking for but this works very well.
Q:Can plastic sheets be used for greenhouse siding?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for greenhouse siding. They are commonly used due to their durability, affordability, and ability to provide insulation and UV protection for plants inside the greenhouse.
Q:What are the environmental impacts of plastic sheets?
Plastic sheets have several environmental impacts. Firstly, their production contributes to the depletion of fossil fuels and the emission of greenhouse gases. Secondly, when plastic sheets are improperly disposed of, they can end up in landfills or oceans, taking hundreds of years to decompose and contributing to pollution. Additionally, plastic sheets can harm wildlife and marine ecosystems, as animals may mistake them for food or become entangled in them. Overall, the use and disposal of plastic sheets have negative consequences on the environment and highlight the importance of reducing plastic waste and finding sustainable alternatives.
Q:I want to shatter a piece of plastic to use for an art project. Is there a way to crack it into a web-like shape like this
Clear plastic usually won't shatter for any reason. Some kinds of plastics such as the kind used to make paint buckets will shatter after being stored a couple of years in a very hot shed. (How do you think I know that?) What you want to do is get a laminating kit. Office supply stores carry them. Stick a layer on both sides of thin glass and beat it into an artistic condition. Another technique that might work for you is to use art glass, commonly called stained glass. Break it into artistic shapes and tape together with masking tape on only one side. Then force clear silicon tub and tile sealer between the pieces. After it sets, strip off the tape and see what you have. Lastly, consider candy glass. It will shatter but it won't cut skin. When you see a movie where somebody is thrown through a window, that is candy glass. Ask at any stage supply store about that.
Q:how would you collect fresh water if you were in a deserted island and you only had a plastic sheet, some rocks and an emty coconut cut in half
*SHRIEKS* ME A CAT I HATE WATER!
