Q:First off, I hope I am in the right place to ask this question, I don't really know where to go for help for this.To start, I am trying to make a portable battery to charge USB devices. So a 5 volt output. I am trying to do it cheaply, under 20 bucks. I have a bunch of laptop batteries laying around and no laptops to use them in. The one I am looking at using is a toshiba PA3383U-1BRS, It is a 14.8v 6450mAh battery. the cells inside are 12 of these -- SF US18650GR. I want to know how or if I can re arrange the cells to get the most battery life out of it. I dont know how it would be charged, what protection/charging circuts would be needed or anything like that. I know next to nothing about how this all works but my common sense says that it would be better to get the output of the pack as close to 5v as possible before doing anything with voltage regulators, to keep it efficient. Let me know what I have to do/ what I cant do/ why I am wrong/ if you need more info etc. thanks a ton guys!
To make 5 volts battery pack, take 4 piece small cells out from Toshiba 14.4V battery pack. You need to know which cell is still good. Put 4 cells in series shall do.
Q:i have a NiCd 9.6v 400mah battery pack (8 1.2v 400mah cells) and a 250 mah charger. what should be the initial and regular charging times?i was told the first charge should be 7 or 8 hoursregular charging should be 1hr 40 mins.
the rate is normally 1/C - the inverse of the current capacity. 1 hour only if you have a Smart Charger and it can sense the heat generated by charging the battery. I recharge my 9.6v/4000mAh pack in 15 minutes, but I have a battery that is MADE for hot charges and my charger is made to push that much current into the battery.
Q:I have a 7.2v 1100 nimh battery pack. I want to power the motor with solar cells. Should I use five 1.5V 135mA cells or seven 1.0V 415mA cells? Thanks for any input you might have.

Q:I don't like to use the rechargable batteries for my digital camera because I don't have the time to constantly recharge. I'm leaving for Europe tomorrow and want to know if there are any standards for packing batteries in the checked luggage because I would think that they maybe aren't allowed in the carry-on -- don't know though.
Well, if you are coming from the USA, then the best I can suggest is to either declare your possession of the batteries at security checkpoint or to a TSA officer. I'm not sure if they will take them away, but you can call the TSA or the airline of course, and they will tell you.
Q:Electric car battery pack capacity 156ah on behalf of several electricity?
A few times is the power, the unit is: kWh KWh, battery capacity is: AH
Q:I have don it before but forgot how to find the bad one. I have a battery pack that will not charge. I hooked the charger to it and found one battery that I had continunity through it without droping any voltage I think it's the one.I want to take a battery out of another bad pack and replace it. Is there any way of checking them, ( individually) with a Multimeter, or do I need to check like I did the other?
I would never try to repair a battery pack. Just buy a new one.
Q:I just bought an RC truck, and the manual says to charge it for at least 8 hours on the first two initial charges. It's been 6 hours on the first charge, and I really want to play with it. But I don't want to ruin the battery.
Ruit it you wont. However. They suggest two longer chargers the first couple of times to settle the battery in. NiCDs suffer from memories. For example. If you charge a 2000 milliamp 7.2v sitck pack to 1500 milliamp each time, then eventually it will only charge to 1500. Stick with the manual. You'l get better performance and life from your kit.
Q:I need to build a battery pack that will last a min 2hrs to power a motor through a speed controller. The motor will be run at the slowest speed possible.Motor Specifications:? Torque: 12.0kg/cm? Rated Voltage: 12.0V? Operating: 4.5 - 18V max? Current - No load: 70mA? Current - Full load: 1380mA? Gear Ratio:
You need to do two things to work this out as you have not provided enough detail. Step one: Determine average motor current over the two hour period. Step two: Calculate the required AH (amp hour) rating required for the batteries. Step one: connect an ammeter to the supply side of the speed controller. Run the motor at the speed you require. Measure the current. (lets assume 300mA) Step two: Battery Capacity. Lets say you need 3 hours run time. 300mA * 3 hours 900mAhours required. Check the AH rating of your batteries. (lets assume they are 450mAH rated) Building the battery pack: You neeed 8 batteries in series to get the required 12V. But if you did this you would only have a 450mAH rated battery pack. You need to double that, so put another 8 batteries in series. That will give you 900mAH which is what you require. (total 16 batteries) If you have 900mAH batteries you would only need 8. If you have 450mAH battaries you would need 16 (two parallel lots of 8) If you have 100mAH batteries you would need 72 batteries (9 parallel lots of 8)etc If you have 1800mAH batteries you will still need 8 to get the required voltage, but the motor will run aproximately twice as long as with the 900mAH solutions. Hope this helps!
Q:a 9.6volt 1100mah battery does not hurt it at all. also current amperage affects rof and power too right?
If you put a 10.8v battery in there, you will wreck every internal gear that there is to wreck, that is way too strong for a stock gun, especially a clone brand. Stick with the 8.4v, or whatever battery came with it, otherwise your friend has just lost a large investment
