- Throw rug or a huge rug or wall-to-wall carpet? Ironing a rug may melt the fibers if it is a polyester fiber rug or carpet. I do not think that the iron with produce enough heat to reach the base of the rug fibers. IOW, not a good idea. What the linked sites recommend is steam cleaning, even a professional steam cleaning. Be sure to let the professional know your rugs have a flea infestation. The cost might be a couple hundred for a professional steam cleaning, but that is worth the cost to be rid of fleas . If you have small rugs you can run them through the a hot washer load, and depending on fabric, a dryer.

- You could try a steam cleaner with an odor-out additive. There are also pet odor sprays that are different than Febreeze that may work. I have a Bissel steam cleaner, and just use that to steam clean things with an odor fighting additive mix. If it gets real bad you can always try to steam clean it anyway on a small area and see if it tears it up. Plus there's the trash, but I know that's a bummer. Vanilla extract gets odors out but it stains. Depends on how dark the rug is. Definately for any type of plastic cooler or plastic in general, I always wipe it with vanilla extract after washing it.

- Paint thinner and a carpet cleaner! Be patient. I spilled black stain on a tan carpet once and i kept pouring paint thinner on it then soak it up. DONT SMEAR IT BLOT IT! Then when its about all gone mix the paint thinner in the carpet cleaner and suck it out. If you dont have a carpet cleaner go find a shop vac and put the thinner on and suck it up keep doing it till its gone! Or you can let it dry all the way IF ITS JUST ON TOP then kinda shave it off with scissors its not gonna look new but better than it did or another good way but a dresser or something over it LOL it'll save you till you move out

Sounds like they're either interfering with whatever connection you have, either between the computer and your electrical source (most likely) OR between your tower and monitor. Check the connections on the back of your computer, then in your walls, etc. If they're fine, then complain to your neighbors! Why let THEM ruin your computer??

- Herrman is the only one to get it right so far.. This are special and very thin mats that allow a rug over carpet ( or carpet over carpet). But you must get one just for this because it also comes for rugs over hard wood and rugs over a hard surface.Do NOT get the shelf liner material type this won t work properly. They come as a netting type material or a felt looking material. They grip and protect the rug from sliding and bunching up..They will collect dirt and dust naturally and all you have to do is toss in the washer on a gentle cycle and the tackiness comes back. - Don't bleach it. I tried that on a very light carpet once and it did not even come close to matching the rest of the carpet. And if you were going to do the entire carpet, I think the fumes could be toxic. I have heard of dying it though so I know it is possible.

- Yes! you can get spray rubber coating from almost any auto parts store. just flip the rug over, spray it on, and let it dry.

- cut the old burnt carpet out but just the top part, not all the way thru the carpet. Go into your closet, in the corner and cut the top fibers out and then take some super glue and lightly spread some glue on the area that you cut out. Then sprinkle the new carpet over the glue and let dry. You'll be just fine. You're just shaving off the top of the bad carpet and going into your closet and shaving off some good carpet to repair what you burned.
