Q:Should dry food ingredients like sugar, coffee powder, tea powder, chilly powder , nuts, flour etc be stored only in food safe plastics ? Or any plastic container is alright? I am concerned about plastic leaching into ingredients, which may cause serious health issues. I know it is not good to store cooked food in non safe plastic containers. But does it hold the same for dry food ingredients also? Clarify please.
for starters, if nobody's using it, turn it off! by this I mean, if you're not going to leave a room in your house, turn off the light in that room. buy energy saving bulbs, they produce the same amount of light while using less electricity. when buying a new electrical device, try to find one with energy star on it. these devices use less electricity than their regular counterparts. when and if possible in your community, recycle. the more people recycle, the less need there will be for production of new materials. when driving, if your forced to wait in line say at a drive through, turn off your car until your finally allowed to moved foward. a very large percentage of fuel consumption is while idling in traffic or waiting in a line. this is good way to conserve fuel a little hear and there. BUT use common sense lol DON'T do this at every stop light, best place is rush hour traffic, when you're stuck in one spot without moving for many minutes.
Q:How do you care for ground cover plants?
Caring for ground cover plants involves regular watering, fertilizing, and mulching, as well as occasional pruning and weeding. It's important to choose the right ground cover for your specific conditions and provide adequate sunlight or shade. Additionally, maintaining proper soil moisture and removing any dead or diseased foliage will help keep the plants healthy and thriving.
Q:Are there any environmental concerns associated with using agricultural plastic products?
Yes, there are environmental concerns associated with using agricultural plastic products. Some of these concerns include the improper disposal of plastic waste, which can lead to pollution of soil, waterways, and ecosystems. Additionally, the production and disposal of agricultural plastics contribute to greenhouse gas emissions and can take hundreds of years to decompose. Furthermore, the use of plastic mulch on farmland can hinder natural processes such as soil aeration and water filtration, potentially impacting soil health and water quality.
Q:I really wanna know is how safe are plastic bags, plastic cups/plates, spoons/forks, etc for our environment and ourselves? Are they non-toxic?Anyone know?
Polymers from some plastics can supposedly leach. This happens e.g. if you microwave something without removing the saran wrap. In general the environmental hazard with plastics and polystyrene is not that they're toxic, but that they will last for thousands of years. It's unfortunately more economical to make them disposable than to recycle. If oil hit $200 a barrel or there were higher pollution fines /landfill fees this would change.
Q:What are the different types of silage covers available?
There are several types of silage covers available, including oxygen barrier films, oxygen-limiting barriers, polyethylene covers, and tarpaulins. Oxygen barrier films are impermeable to oxygen and help preserve the quality of silage by reducing spoilage. Oxygen-limiting barriers are similar, but allow for some gas exchange to maintain optimal fermentation. Polyethylene covers are commonly used and provide a physical barrier to protect the silage from exposure to air, rain, and pests. Tarpaulins are heavy-duty covers that offer protection against external elements and can be easily removed and reused.
Q:Can ground cover be used to create a low-maintenance alternative to a lawn in a small space?
Yes, ground cover can be a great low-maintenance alternative to a lawn in a small space. Ground cover plants, such as creeping thyme or clover, can form a dense, low-growing carpet that requires less mowing, watering, and fertilizing compared to a traditional lawn. They also help prevent soil erosion, attract beneficial insects, and add visual interest to the landscape.
Q:What are the different types of agricultural plastic greenhouse systems?
There are several types of agricultural plastic greenhouse systems, including the tunnel greenhouse, the hoop greenhouse, the multi-span greenhouse, and the venlo greenhouse. These systems vary in structure and design, but all aim to provide an enclosed environment for optimal plant growth and protection from external elements.
Q:How are plastic pesticide containers safely disposed of?
Plastic pesticide containers can be safely disposed of by following a few steps. Firstly, it is crucial to rinse the containers thoroughly to remove any residue. Next, check with local recycling centers or waste management facilities to see if they accept empty pesticide containers. Some facilities may have specific guidelines for plastic recycling, so it's essential to follow their instructions. If recycling options are not available, it is recommended to puncture the containers before disposing of them in a landfill. This ensures that the containers cannot be reused or pose any risks. It is important to always adhere to local regulations and guidelines regarding the safe disposal of plastic pesticide containers.
Q:What are some ground cover options for areas with poor fertility and limited sunlight?
Some ground cover options for areas with poor fertility and limited sunlight include moss, vinca minor, sweet woodruff, lamium, and ajuga. These plants are known for their ability to thrive in low-light conditions and tolerate poor soil conditions.
Q:YOU THINK PEOPLE CAN TURN GOOD LOOKING WHIT OUT plastic surgery
With the right outfit, the best hair cut and colour, a good posture and a sunny nature anyone can be attracted to you. A beaming smile attracts most, and a happy funny person will always win over the most 'stunningly' beautiful but miserable. Who wants to be with a miserable 'barbie or ken'?! ((hugss)) n big smiles :) x
