- JimS is correct. With the door closed, disconnect the opener arm from the door (there should be a release cord). Try opening the door by hand. If unable to, or the door is difficult to open, then the door itself needs servicing. This may include a broken spring or a bad torsion bearing. I would highly recommend having a professional repair the door. If the door opens and closes without a problem, then the opener itself needs adjustment. You can try gradually increasing the open force setting until the door opens without a problem.

- You have a photoelectric sensor near the door which detects say infrared light. You then include a tiny infrared transmitter near the detector which sends out a low amount of infrared light. When someone comes within say 1m of the car, they step infront of the beam and some of the energy reflects back and is detected by the sensor. - Its nothing they did during an oil change. These auto doors are known for problems, even Chrysler Town and Country's and Ford vans with auto doors. Check the track to see if something is in its path. Could even be the motor or cable binding.
