Introduction
Aluminum foil is aluminum prepared in thin metal leaves with a thickness less than 0.2 millimetres (8 mils); thinner gauges down to 6 micrometres (0.24 mil) are also commonly used. In the United States, foils are commonly gauged in thousandths of an inch or mils. Standard household foil is typically 0.016 mm (0.63 mil) thick, and heavy duty household foil is typically 0.024 mm (0.94 mil). The foil is pliable, and can be readily bent or wrapped around objects. Thin foils are fragile and are sometimes lamilated to other materials such as plastics or paper to make them more useful. Aluminum foil supplanted tin foil in the mid 20th century.

- Q:the ignition actuator inside the steering column was busted while someone was trying to steal the truck, its a 91 ford F150With the Steering column cover off I can start it if i push the actuator rod down manualy with a pair of pliers or at least the check engine lights/dash lights go on however once I do that I still have to go under the hood and jump the relay with a screw driverAny thoughts on why it wont crank over simply by pushing the rod all the way down into the ignition switch ? Could this be a broken ignition switch on the steering column ?
- If you push the rod forward, it should go untill the the ign powers upThen, it should go in one step further, and you should feel spring tension from the ignition switchThat is the start positionIf it gets that far, and nothing happens, look at the ignition switch closely, as those tend to come apart internallyThere was a recall on them for starting fires, so I would replace it anywayThe steering lock actuator is pretty easy to change, that is the horeshoe shaped aluminum peice that is broken in your steering column3E715 is the basic part number, I believe, but been a while since done one.
